Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Mattock had blatantly been told to stay inside. He kept looking out to Croft and staying where he was, despite Laczko not getting tight either. I thought at the time this could have been down to two things: firstly to cover N'Gotty and McAuley for the ball played in behind, given their lack of pace and/or secondly because he has been turned so much recently, it's easier to chase across to get blocks and tackles in than chasing directly back for the ball played in behind. Probably more the first though. The fact is that Mattock has struggled against a lot of wingers this season and it will continue happening because he is still learning. He didn't have a terrible game today though and he was limping for the latter part of the first half and into the second before being replaced.
skinnydipper Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I thought Mattock did O.K. Battled well and put some good tackles in.Sometimes you're going to come up against a good opponent. That's life.
lildave3 Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Meh. More annoyed with sitting in my proper seat tbh, wasn't fun.
Bert Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Meh.More annoyed with sitting in my proper seat tbh, wasn't fun. Tell me about it. Thats the first time in 3 months and 13 days that i've sat down all game.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Tell me about it.Thats the first time in 3 months and 13 days that i've sat down all game. Yeah, that was ****ing shit. Bring back unreserved seating. If people want to sit down then they shouldn't have tickets at the back.
Bert Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Yeah, that was ****ing shit. Bring back unreserved seating. If people want to sit down then they shouldn't have tickets at the back. I bet a lot of people who wanted to stand and sing, were stuck from where we were to the bottom, with all the morons at the back. Joe Mattocks dad, and Weso's dad were sat near us.
lildave3 Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I bet a lot of people who wanted to stand and sing, were stuck from where we were to the bottom, with all the morons at the back. True story.
maddog Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 1 point is ok. I just can't understand how we can go from playing amazing one week to so poor the next. It's happened all season there is something seriously wrong. Either the players are just plain shit and have been lucky in their wins or there is a serious attitude problem. I rekon the players just go half arsed, don't concentrate as much and aren't as bothered as they feel they have done enough already in the win the week before. I get this feeling about Leicester that that's the case and has been for years now. We have that proud defeat at Chelsea followed by 2 draws and a defeat against Colchester, Preston and Burnley, who are hardly the better teams in the league. We have the great win at Bristol City but then a run of 4 loses and 3 draws, awful results. The strong home win against Ipswich followed by a home draw and 2 defeats. I just don't understand it. Then probably the best performance of the season last week, a great 2-0 win then today, little possesion, little chances, sitting back defensive football with the commentary saying we were lucky not to be 3, 4 nil down. Against a Norwich team just as bad as us in the table and who lost to Bury! How can a team play so well one week and so poor the next? That just doesn't happen to any other teams i know of but always does to Leicester and has been for the last 4 seasons or so. There is a serious fooking attitude problem, that the players don't seem as botherd after a win and it needs to be resolved or we will never get out of this division. I am just bemused at the fact we can't seem to string wins together or even great performances. There has to be an attitude problem in the squad somewhere and i rekon, it has something to do with Richard Stearman Seriously though there is an attitude problem with these players somewhere
Bert Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Man of the Match today for us, Stearman. Without doubt. I do wish he'd stop doing that gay flick though.
lildave3 Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Without doubt.I do wish he'd stop doing that gay flick though. Me too, really pissed me off when he did that today. Had a good run, could have gone further and gave us an oppurtunity but no, he decides to do that and just present the ball on a plate to the defender. Ah well. Like you say, without doubt MOTM.

You should've hear Maybes rant after that. "Stearman, you twat, i fookin' hate you, stop doing that gay flick" with some more abuse, but it was rather funny.

Maybes Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Man of the Match today for us, Stearman. Even I would have to agree with that, although the quicker he realises he aint the right back version of leo messi the better!! I think McAuley was one of the worst performers. He was too easily beaten but meh. Barry Hayles is a handful and probably a mouthful

Norwich have been impressive in the league recently, especially at home. In the circumstances a draw was a decent result, and takes us a point closer to our survival target of 50 points. The only ones disappointed would be those who swallowed the media hype about us being possible playoff contenders,

Norwich were very good today, whether we were poor and made them look good/better than they were, remains to be seen, but regardless, they deserved to win. Maybe, our luck is changing.
AoWW Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Yeah, that was ****ing shit. Bring back unreserved seating. If people want to sit down then they shouldn't have tickets at the back. Agreed. Felt quite smug that I still managed to get away with not sitting in my 'proper' seat though. Not sure whether it was a whole lot better where I ended up, but i still felt suitably rebellious!
skinnydipper Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I've got a feeling it's going to be the same distance as on the way This is going to seem like a clever-dick reply but it isn't On the way back I missed the turn for the A14. It took me 15 minutes and quite a few miles to get back to where I should have turned off. Oh yeah, and those Cauliflower Cheese pies that were sold at the ground had quite devastating consequences within the confines of a medium sized family car. That too seemed to make the return journey somewhat longer
Guest Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Yeah, that was ****ing shit. Bring back unreserved seating. If people want to sit down then they shouldn't have tickets at the back. Was going to say "don't get me started on N'Gotty", but have now decided to change it to "don't get me started on where we were sitting" instead.
SPF07 Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Im not the biggest fan of either of our full backs, however that being said i definately thought that Stearman was MOTM yesterday. Recently his defending has been top notch just wish his distribution yesterday at times was better. As for Mattock getting so much stick, i feel its a little HARSH. He was left by with two players yesterday everytime, for some reason Laczko kept tucking inside leaving the wings totally open to exploit. Not sure whether this as tactical by Ollie or Laczko positional play not to hot buteither way it needs addressing because it caused us no end of problems.
