martyn Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I think that's a decent point. Someone mentioned it had been a 'flat' week at the club and I agree, a 0-0 away to a team on a 9 match unbeaten run is acceptable.
coale39 Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Crap first half, better second. Some chances should have put away but same with Norwich.
BLUEARMY8 Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 We can not grumble with the scoreline. We lost 2 of our most inspirational players in clem and kis and still fot a point. I do not think lac was fit either. I am sure all the fans sat by there computer will moan about it though, Lets see what the lads say who went.
Thracian Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Quite agree about the late tactical change almost costing us. I like Andy King as a player but couldn't see the point in using him so close to the end. The team was playing better and enjoying a good share of the ball. Why change that and take the risk of falling back and holding out with numbers? We were so lucky to get away with it and have got to have more faith in our ability. As if we hadn't done ourselves enough harm against Charlton to cost ourselves points.
MC Prussian Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 So acceptable! And now for something completely different (and less heart attack-like) like Crystal Palace! Barry Hayles - MOTM!
coale39 Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Dont managers change the team towards the end to waste a bit of time?

Matt Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Happy, but it's another draw, and I went into the start of the season reading if you win your home games, draw your away games you'll be ok, I agreed and in our last 2 games thats been our form. I had the radio on but wasn't really concerntrating on what was going on, 1st half we sounded awful, second half we sounded better and towards the end of the game we could have stole it, Happy but got a sense of disappointment with it, at least we didn't lose, atleast we have a two game unbeaten run to build on, but we need wins!!
davieG Posted 19 January 2008 Author Posted 19 January 2008 Never mind Zsolt, Norwich peppered us with shots
WetFlannel Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 If anyone says its a decent point you either need your head checked or you have low expectations... away to Norwich who have just lost to Bury and are only one point ahead of us and you settle for 1 point. What a fooking joke... Oh well...
Frenzied Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 From the sounds of it we rode a luck a bit, especially in the first half but could have nicked a win. Very pleased with that result against one of the form teams of the division.
martyn Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Those statistics are like a complete role reversal from last week. Losing to Bury means nothing flannel, they're on a 9 match unbeaten run. That result is completely uncorrelated to anything (see Coventry wins at Man U/Blackburn for example). Missing Kisnorbo, Clem and appearing to have a half fit winger is hardly likely to help either. And you only need to look at the league table to realise that the 'low expectations' comment is rather strange.
Head Honcho Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Is Oakley a magician? ............he seemed to disappear at half time!
surrifox Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Reasons we should have won:- They played in midweek (and lost) (to Bury) We have a mass of confidence after last week They have Doherty in the side Sooner or later we must get an unexpected result and end someone's unbeaten run Reasons a point is OK:- Our injuries All the pissing about with Osbourne
Suffolk_fox Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I agree, a decent point away to Norwich, who normally beat us. Will set a stinger across Deliah's road for when she comes back home....
davieG Posted 19 January 2008 Author Posted 19 January 2008 If anyone says its a decent point you either need your head checked or you have low expectations... away to Norwich who have just lost to Bury and are only one point ahead of us and you settle for 1 point. What a fooking joke...Oh well... but a 9 game unbeaten run in the league including 4 wins - 10 games now!

A good result against an in form side. If we can draw away and win at home, that's and average of 2 points a game. Simplistic I know, but that's promotion form...
DB11 Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 God it sounds like we were so lucky! We being lucky for once :w00t:
Thracian Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Definitely a point gained in the cumcumstances. I'm staggered we didn't sort our tactics until half-time though because Norwich could have been over the horizon by then. The game would seem to have returned Laczko to mere mortality. Oakley sounded like our MoM judging by the ground he covered despite having to run off an injury. I don't know how much credit the defence deserves for another clean sheet cos Norwich had too many chances for my liking. In attack Hayles found something to nibble at when no-one else found much at all but missed two golden opportunities. Howard sounded like a bit of a donkey and was hardly involved and, as someone mentioned, poor Hume was used for a game of pass the parcel. Weso did extraordinarily well to last 90 minutes and Bori seemed to have a better second half. Anyway Palace to look forward to and the last time I recall us playing them at home in midweek we won 2-0 I think. That'd do, for sure.

mat_j101 Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 After listening to the game, im happy we got a point, because it really sounds it could have been all done and dusted by half time. However, if youd offered a point to me this morning, id have said no, because i really thought after last week we could beat them today, so i guess from that point of view its a little disappointing. But on the whole, not too bad.
Guest shearfox Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 We had some of our most influantial players missing, Zsolt was never fit no where near as energetic as he was last week, which I believe is why Croft caused a lot of problems down that side in the first half. I believe it was a good point and the players worked hard against a side that are now unbeaten in 9, nevermind the fact we were playing away.
