Norwich v Leicester Post Match 0-0

Reserved seating is the work of the devil. May not be a a problem for clubs where basically the whole away support stands but our following really relies on the small number that want to sing and stand being able to group together.

I've got a mate that supports Wednesday and he says that although there are some supporters that don't stand/sing at away games, they understand the benefit it has and why others want to, so are quite happy to find somewhere else to sit if someone is in their seat. Wish I could say the same about our bunch. Don't understand why so many of our fans our so docile and reserved in terms of supporting the team but as soon as some geezer is stood infront of their seat they turn into the fooking incredible hulk.

lol Fantastic post.

Compared to many similar-sized clubs we just don't have as many fans in the all important 18-30 bracket who travel away and want to give the team their backing. I don't know why it is. We also seem to have the league's biggest group of OAPs who go to every game for some bizarre reason. I don't want to slag them off as they are obviously dedicated fans but I've never seen another travelling support like it. I've been away with Sheffield United before and it was basically 3,000 blokes stood up all game. Every single person stood. I was on the third row from the front and was standing up, it was bizarre compared to the Leicester experience. I've only seen that sort of thing with Leicester once or twice in the past few years (Fulham away last year is what I'm talking about, for example - and even then not everyone stood, probably about two-thirds).

These new grounds make it difficult too. Palace is a good ground for standing but at Norwich everything is out in the open and it's impossible to all gather in the gangway like you can at the back of the away section at Selhurst.

I was mid way at Norwich. There were some pockets of 5/6 trying to sing from me down to the front, and some of them oldies (40's -50s - is that old?), but had to give up when the main singing from the back died down ( which was never sustained anyway) due to grumpy looks from the boring farts around us and dirty looks if we stood up. Also, next to me were a family of 4 adults with loads of Leicester colours on who hardly said a word during the game, the younger male (in his twenties) was getting mardy at the bloke in front standing very so often, and this lad next to me sat looking at his mobile for the last 10 mins of game which were the most exciting and tense for us! Why bother coming !

Well I went, living near Norwich I managed to get a seat from a N/City season ticket holder so i sat in the Barclay stand to watch Leicester.

Gotta say man I was getting some abuse when the city keeper decided to test Russel's chin, LMFAO probably didn't help matters me standing and shouting for Leicester every time we looked like doing anything ( which wasn't that often ).

All said and done i was really disappointed with the Leicester performance, We where really lucky to walk away with a draw and talk about heart attack football we must have played 80% of the first half in our own area .....

I agree our 'mature' support doesn't help matters but if you look at Man Utd's or Villa's away support there's plenty of older geezers/women standing, starting chants and really going for it all game, and there's plenty of 18-30s in our support who are abysmal. Don't think we can blame it all on age groups. Many Leicester fans just seem to have a mentality that those that stand and sing are a nuisance whearas in other clubs they are usually respected as being the backbone of the support.

Oh well, could be worse, we could support Fulham.

I agree, eating some humble pie after my reservations about his signing.

We are a family club, we can't please everyone!

Anyone want for U16s tickets for Crystal Palace

I agree with most that has been said above.

Our support is very different to say the least.

When people follow Man United all over the place the 'lads' do everything to get tickets, whether it be jibbing in or just charging turnstiles. Once they're in, every supporter knows the deal, everyone will stand and more or less everyone will sing. If people don't like that they go. OR, as they did on Saturday, sit at the front. This lets the singers/standers move to the back.

Now I'm not saying people that want to sit and not sing should sit at the front, or near it. But for now it's about as common sense as you're going to get until a proper solution is offered. I guarantee that solution wont be making everyone sit. Some supporters, unlike ours, just will not accept it.

I agree but I don't think our fans will ever accept that. People seem to want to sit in their correct seats on some kind of pointless principle or because they think people that want to stand at the back are some kind of chavs they shouldn't have to give in to.

The times I've tried to go towards the back I've always moved if the people who have the tickets for those seats are there because they're near friends or want to stand. If not, I've spoken very politely to them, explaining that I'm more than happy to move to my own seat if that's what they want but that I could instead simply give them my tickets which are nearer the front (surely a more desirable position if you don't want to sing/stand.) What I generally get in return is a torrent of abuse of threats of violence.

That seems to be the case most of the time.

Instead of the ticket office lying about where they can allocate tickets and the like it would make much more sense to ask people where they would like tickets.

Although I doubt we've been doing it. Manchester United have recently been putting the people who are known not to stand near the back to try and reduce the amount of people standing when they go away from home. But there fan will power is much more strong than ours.

I get my tickets posted to me when they go on sale, and I invariably end up sitting near the same people each game. Most of whom are happy to sit there and not make any attempt with the atmosphere, or rather, contributing to the lack of. To say I am getting fed up is more than a tad accurate.

BTW, I am not male, and I don't fit into the 18-30 age bracket any more.

Surely something can be done

Such as?! It's under the jurisdiction of the individual clubs, what hope do we have seeing as we can't even get our own club to listen to us.

Maybe we could hire some of the hench looking geezers from the kop at filbo who would give you the evils if you weren't singing in a big game.

'Tis true that they don't listen.

All it requires when selling away tickets is to put them into two bunches, one at the back "where the singing is", and the other for "quiet folks".

Most would get the idea!

Too much effort ?

40's -50's - old? most certainly not my dear chap. I'm in my 40's, proficient at using the interweb, and i even have a mobile phone and do texting. I take my 11 year old son who loves to sing and clap, but if we're behind people who stand, he can't see, which kind of takes away from the whole match experience

That's two of us.

Unreserved seating however would help that.
