Leicester Lass Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Really doesn't seem like a year ago. Hope you're sleeping tight Janx. xx
Lord Nibblington Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Such a shame. Willl always remember the conversations I had with him.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Wow, cant believe that the year has passed that quick. Yeah, I would agree, raised glasses tomoro in his memory would be a fitting gesture like. RIP buddy.
Mrs Janx Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Hello all I check out the website every now and then and really pleased to see you all were having a beer or two to remember Neil - completely the right way to remember him and the good times. Truly what he would have wanted. The last 52 weeks have been somewhat of a blur, a rollercoaster and a bit surreal at times - but both me and Charlie have made it . My boy has his Dads attitude, spirit, sense of fun and humour (and is developing a keen interest in football too) but can also be a bit loud, a know it all and a bit of a character - a real chip off the old block (!!) and Neil would be proud. Thanks all for your kind words Mrs Janx
lcfcalan Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Thanks Robsdee for reminding us . I came across a pic on my phone of teeno, bret, mark ,shummy and Neil the other day . The people I was with at the time didnt even know what a football was, let alone what a top bloke Neil was , (the pic was taken after the famous 'switch' game /thread) anyhow, I just had to let them people who were with me when I came across the pic, know what a top bloke Neil was and how honoured I was to have had him albeit briefly, in my life. A lovely man to have met on lifes' journey. Sleep well my friend .
Deathside Posted 28 January 2008 Posted 28 January 2008 Dee, thanx for starting this thread - Although I don't frequent Foxestalk these days I just dropped by to see if there was any mention of Janx I still miss Janx immensely - And perhaps that's a part of why I've stepped back from football over the past 12 months I raised a glass or 2 in his memory over the weekend
Janx Mum Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 I really can't believe it's been a year. He was a top bloke and we all had some cracking times with him before/after the football at the pub.RIP mate. MY husband & I would like to thank all on foxtalk general chat for all your posts about our dear son Neil. We know he was special and it has helped to know that others thought so too. It has been a very difficult year for us all but reading your posts has helped a lot. We hope to bring Charlie to another match sometime and hope we may meet some of you then. Thank you too for the plaque in the garden. I have visited but sometimes find it difficult to get there. We thank you all for all your interest and memories. Janx Mum

Hullfox Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 I limped round to say hello to him in the memorial garden last night. I never met him but I felt I knew him just from the conversations we had mid thread. Life sure is precious isn't it.
Durnerz Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Have stood by the plaque recently and its co-incidental his is next to my other friend whos life was tragically taken around 2-3 months after Neil's. Ben Cooling. It made me smile and how two paths of my Leicester supporting friends can come together.
Bert Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 It only really occured to me the other day, but we should've made the game we played "The Janx memorial" match or something fitting that no-one would to offense to.
