Geo V Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Jermain Jenas?! Are you a wind up..... lol Apparently they are making Cannabis a class B drug again, hopefuly this will make you refrain from using it so frequntly and post crap like that! Im not sure if he is our second best central midfielder but football is all about balance and maybe he isnt the right choice to partner Gerrard. Still it must not be forgotten that JJ was young player of the year about 3 years ago, had what can only be described as a Stearman (lost his way) and is now playing some great football.
Joe. Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 No instead we got the dream pairing of Superstar Gerrard and The mighty Lampard. I don't think there's any better pairing in world football Need dropping both of them and stick Jenas and Carrick in there. I'm not quite sure what's wrong with you. Just try putting in Jenas and Carrick together and see where it'd get us. Actually I can tell you the answer now, nowhere. And as for Jenas being captain... You make me chuckle.

Oh and having the Gerrard and Lampard paternership has got us far Lampard probally the worst player but seems to always get in because of his past and playing for chelsea. Gerrard over rated and a mardy cnut who if he don't get his way, Throws his toys out his pram. Jenas playing great for Spurs and not a SUPER-STAR. One of them players who does his job solid and don't get the respect he derserves. Carrick - One of the main reasons behind Man Utd winning the league last season and again a solid midfielder who passes it better then both Gerrard and Lampard. We need a good team, not just a few world class players who can't play together. Why not make Jenas captain ? Oh lets have media tart Beckham or Big head Gerrard. Why England get nowhere in world cups or euro's.

Hugo Sanchez Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Why not shut up? Your just saying this to be difficult... Why am i ? I just always rated Jenas and think he would make a good England Captain. I don't like the Beckham Gerrard and Owen kinda captains. I like Captains who show the armband some respect. Pearce or Adams real England captains who where warriors on the pitch. Jenas has what it takes to become a England Captain. I'm sick of the Gerrards, Owens and Lampards who are living of reps they bulit 2-3 years ago. Drop them and make them fight for there places. We need a good team not just good players.

I think they'll give a good account for themselves tonight. Nows the time to prove people wrong, as there dignity has been shot. Capello will get something out of them tonight.

Brainy Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Apart from create the 2nd goal, what has he actually done tonight?
Samilktray Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Apart from create the 2nd goal, what has he actually done tonight? Scored. No really though i agree with you, would of preferred young starting instead.
WetFlannel Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Apart from create the 2nd goal, what has he actually done tonight? His range of passing has been good, and his second half performance has been very good. Also got man of the match.
Simi Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Apart from create the 2nd goal, what has he actually done tonight? Man of the match.
Simi Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 So you think he deserved it? No, not at all. Just thought it was ironic. But then I found out that it was decided online, so it means nothing. He wasn't awful, but not great. Seemed to be the catalyst for most of our forward movement, just wasn't as clinical as he is normally with that final ball.
Tommy G Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Man of the match. Shows how worthless the MOTM award is. Rooney was MOTM easily, with Bentley also playing well. Gerrard was absent in the first half and didn't do much in the second either
Joe. Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 I still think he was comfortable MOM tonight. He was involved in both goals and his passing was pretty immense at times. The vision for the Wright-Phillips goal was excellent. He's still England's top dog for me.

The vision for the Wright-Phillips goal was excellent. He's still England's top dog for me. I agree, I think that he did very well today. A lot better than he normally is. Maybe not MOTM though but I thought the best players were J.Cole, Bentley, Rooney and Gerrard. Gerrards passing was very good, and his vision was brilliant.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Gerrard was hardly in the game untill the second half and hardly like we where playing world beaters was it. They lost to the U S and A not so long ago. Jenas and Gerrard didnt get forward enough first half and we where lucky to be 1 up. Same with Rooney did sod all first half and was getting no balls fed into him. Second half seem to open up and Joe Cole started asking the question and Gerrard started to play abit, also Rooney came into the game alot more. My MOTM was either Joe Cole or David Bentley. I won't give a player MOTM based just on their second half showing.

Joe. Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Just us on the Gerrard band waggon then? Looks like it The 'bang wagon' rolls on eh?
lildave3 Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Looks like it The 'bang wagon' rolls on eh? Is that some sort of knackered old vehicle? I thought he was decent tonight, not woeful as Walkers seemed to suggest.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Wouldn't say he was woeful like walkers but say he did fook all half and played better second. Still hardly stood out.
