Collymore Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 bull shite one of the watford players apparantly said to conners at half time "whats going on? its not the conners he once knew" Apparantly conners use to convert at least 1 in 10 chances
SilverFox Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 Thats a great response. He is obviously down on confidence and needs the fans support rather than degrodation. Support the lads who wear our colours!
Fox 4 Life Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 totally agree, Connolly needs our support, he showed what he's capable of last night so lets get behind him!
Ric Flair Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 I rate Connolly, i've backed him from the start and I will continue to do so. I know i'm being a hypocrite because there's certain players I don't have as much faith in, but life's a shitter. I'm over the moon Connolly scored last night and set one up. I know he still missed 2 or 3 other chances, but he never hides away when he's out of sorts. Quality will always come through and his record before he came here proves he can score. If Levein is successful at Leicester, which I have alot of confidence in then Connolly will prosper too. You always need a natural goal scorer and Connolly was at Watford, Excelsior FC and Wimbledon so I have every faith he'll score goals for Leicester and I hope he's given the chance to do so. He's on a 3 year deal and i'll be gutted if he doesn't stay atleast that long.

Simon Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 About time he stuck one in the net, hopefully he'll go on and score a few more this season, like we all know hes capable of doing Come on Conner's!
Scow Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 He took the goal well last night. You could clearly see his confidence rise after the goal. He was making some good runs in between the full back and the centreback, which resulted in some success. I think having Dublin up there helped him, as strange as it may sound. I thought Dublin was one of our better players yesterday, winning plenty in the air, and looked dangerous from crosses. I know Dublin was shocking upfront in the early stages of the season, but the service wasn't great then, was it? You have to take in to account that players like Stewart and Williams were also poor under Adams, and look how they've turned their form around.
Random Burglar Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 If he has gained much confidence from last night, lets hope he keeps it and keeps us up!!!
Ricey Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 I have stuck by Connolly so far and I will carry on to do so. He has the ability and Levein has the ability to get players playing their best, next season Connolly will run riot.

Guest Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 He was a different player after the goal, to be fair. Even the simple little things seemed to improve, like basic ball control.
Frenzied Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 Rated Connolly from the first time I saw him play against West Ham. I'd go as far as to say he's better than Dickov; certainly much more skilful. He also gives as much passion and energy to every game. I'd even say he's a more natural goalscorer. The difference between the two is in temperament. It wasn't as easy to knock Dickov's confidence as it seems to be with Connolly. In fact it took the La Manga affair to have an affect on Dickov. But my guess is that Connolly will shine and score regularly in a side brimming with confidence and success.

I've always liked Connolly, and I always will most probably, well in a City shirt I will . I wasn't at the game last night but what I've heard from people it seems to me that he did really well last night after he scored, and he took the finish well IMO. It seems that we need to put Dublin back up top and play Conners off of him, and we could sit Moore up there too, who knows what Craig's thinking of doing on friday. I don't know why but I seem to think Connolly will actually keep us up this season *Because we are in a relegation fight if you hadn't noticed!!!* and he'll score on friday night against his former team, West Ham! So come on people, lets keep the faith and get behind the boys, and espiecally Connolly!!
step Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 I like the confidence. One sparrow dont make a summer. but it is a start
