Ultra Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 I love the Bundesliga so very, very, much. But how many teams does it have left in the Champions League?
Darkzzz_ Posted 11 February 2008 Author Posted 11 February 2008 I love the Bundesliga so very, very, much. Yes it is a good league, but like i say, i cant comment on that league as i dont watch it. I will have to check some games out. I know one thing is for sure, theres only one Luca Toni!
Finnegan Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 The defences are too good in the Prem! It makes for shit viewing! La Liga, lots of goals and lots of good goals, yes please!
Darkzzz_ Posted 11 February 2008 Author Posted 11 February 2008 The defences are too good in the Prem! It makes for shit viewing!La Liga, lots of goals and lots of good goals, yes please! Apart from Titus Bramble!
lildave3 Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Apart from Titus Bramble! Poor ol' Titus. He's actually a very capable defender.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 EPL it is has good quality games aswell as plenty of exciting games that not alot of leagues are capable of. I got sick of watching Serie A because every game i watched was 1-1, 1-0 or 0-0
MikeyT Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Gotta love the Argentinians aswell. I still think the Premiership is the best in the world. I dont get to see alot of the European stuff admitadly, but whenever i do see it its just all theatrics when they get tackled.I know it can be like that here from time to time, but they look like they get shot over there and do about 30 rolls on the floor before finally getting up and running around again 20 seconds later like a blooming gazelle, especially the Italians. Yes the overall skill is great but i just think theres something special about the Premiership!

I watch both leagues, and there is more happening here than over there.
Uncle Albert Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 The Premiership. Well for me anyway. Better teams, than the other leagues. That shows from the last three Champions League finals have all had the two weaker Premier League "Top Four" in them. Losing two of them.(Ah Well) Also I think the Premiership is the only League that can display so much quality, its not all the best teams playing good stuff i.e Aston Villa. No other League can offer a "Top Four" like the Premiership. Spain used to along with Italy, but they cant no more.

Darkzzz_ Posted 11 February 2008 Author Posted 11 February 2008 What was funny? As much as i respect your opinion and appreciate what you are saying, i just dont know how you can come up with that conclusion? I for one love the Premiership. But i am not afraid to say what i think regarding its status as being the greatest. Every league has its pro's and con's!! I hate this term "The Big Four" this is what ruins the league in my opinion. Look at the history of the premiership and you will see that only 4 clubs have ever won the premiership. La Liga and Serie A has had more than four different clubs win the league and there leagues can still spring a few shocks, the premiership has become very dull. We could even go as far as saying about the champions league, we have not had a club win the champions league on any level of regularity like teams have from La liga and Serie A. But thats for another day...

But thats for another day... What i was saying currently at the minute. All four of our teams are through in Europe. Spain only have 3 teams through and Italy have also have 3. So yes we are the only Nation with 4 teams into the knockout stages. So from this The Premiership has the "Top Four".
Moreton Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 The Championship is the hardest league to get out of (the right way that is) and it quite entertaining. The premiership has much more talent but is only more exciting to watch when it is one of the top 4 playing or a relegation fight. I find watching 2 clubs in the Prem who are Mid table playing for no more than just another 3 point soooo boring.

Yes but it still does not take away the fact that we have been piss poor in europe in recent times. Ok we have had 3 teams in the last three finals. We have won one. OK!! (About time really considering the investment in our game) But if you look at european cup finals in the last 20 years you will see it has been dominated by the Spanish and the Italians. Followed by the Germans.

Darkzzz_ Posted 11 February 2008 Author Posted 11 February 2008 Yes i agree mate. Thats why i respect your opinion! But the main reason i was commenting back in the first place was about the"Top 4" Here we have: Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool. Look in spain you have, Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Valencia, Villareal, Athletico. These teams are capable of mounting a challenge in terms of the quality they have. In Italy: You have Inter who are walking it to be fair, Milan, Roma, Juve, Fiorentina, Udinese who are a tidy little club. These clubs have more quality than our top 4, plus you would say the above clubs would be more likely to challenge for a top four finish than say, Everton, Spurs, Newcastle, Etc. Dont get me wrong here, i am just saying what i think. After all that we only have i think 54% of english players playing in our own league, compared to the figures out in spain and italy (which i know are much higher than ours)
purpleronnie Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 1.Bundesliga - everytime I watched it there has been lots of goals, very tough, brilliant crowds. 2.La Liga - Best quality league by a mile, but not as entertaining as the german league. 3.MLS - Gonna get slaugtered for this one but I have been to lots of MLS games, quality not great but some flashes of brilliance make me believe it is up and coming league, great crowds - very colourful and supporters groups given own sections of ground, although the average is only about 17,000. + Tickets cost me £9 and we get free beer. 4.Serie A - Seems to have suffered from the terrible riots, police surpression and financial irregularities, very defensive, but I still prefer it to premiership. 5.Premiership - I find it as dull as dish water and dont watch it too much, did make myself watch the man utd derby it had zero atmosphere despite being a big derby with 75+ thousand there, also watched Chelsea v Liverpool....dreary as....
MC Prussian Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Germany and Italy offer cheap tickets for the high league matches. Germany edges this one due to the fact that the atmosphere in Italy has gone downhill in the past few seasons (so has La Liga's) and also because there's still wankers down South that believe smashing an opposing fan's face is really going to make a difference. The most expensive football is certainly played in the Premiership. But that doesn't mean it's the best. In fact, the quality has dropped, too. And then there's the attendance problem for the small aka bottom teams. Which brings us back to the ticket price issue. Atmosphere-wise, try Croatia and/or Serbia. France's pretty much out of the game and has almost always been. Apart from Lyon, PSG, Marseille and St. Etienne, the league's dead quiet and so is the standard of the game. In the same category: Portugal and Greece. Germany for me. As much as it hurts.
Ashley Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 The Premier League Look at the teams you have in it and grounds. Simply amazing.
sdb Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 i do love the glossy OTT nature of the prem and it can be great but it is too predictable and the hyped up games always, always let u down. serie a is boring imo, spain good bar the diving. know very lttle about other continents but hear good things about germany

I am not going to be like othere people and slag off leagues i know nothing about, The bundesliga will be something i will be loking out for.
