'I don't envisage too many changes'

Now, I can safely say, if I travel an hour plus on the tube tonight to zone fecking 7, and see Howard and Hayles upfront again, I will not be going again this season at the least.

A little harsh, especially if we win with those in the team.

I know team selection hasn't been great at times or nor have the decisions (ie Fryatt on after about 89mins when your 1-0 down at home) but I still think the players picked are capable of a lot more than they are showing and its not just down to selection, its down to them under-performing.

Sorry think I was a little unclear,

I don't mind them playing, but if our strike force tonight is AGAIN those two and hume fryatt nor dj start, I will have had enough

It's bloody obvious those two don't work. Neither have pace so the opposition have the easy job of pushing up and forcing us back. It has be one or the other.

I think that Howard can stay up there and perhaps be partnerd by Hume or Fryatt?

I agree. Against some teams it might work but to do it tonight would just be totally tactically flawed, DeMerit and Shittu will keep them quiet with ease.

You are dead right mate because Hume, DJ and Fryatt average a goal a game for us. As Borat would put it...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!

So you could easily change the way you follow your club on the basis of team selection or performance? I thought that supporting your football club went beyond guaranteeing success and even great football. Maybe you weren't around in the David Pleat years lol

Unfortunately, it doesnt seem that obvious to our managers

Tonights tactic...

Long ball..... Aim for Howard.... Head into space... Unchallenged clearance... Hayles 10metres away from the ball

but no, we've definately benefitted from that tactic recently

yeah i dont know what we would do without it

I think that's a bit of an ignorant way to put it.

If you've seen this partnership lately you have to accept that it hasn't worked for us. Howard is doing his best but he can't win everything and Hayles is too slow to play off Howard and feed off his headers. Lately, when DJ has came on we've looked a lot more threatening, his pace is used correctly and we seem to create more chances.

If we start with Hume wide again - I'll be seriously worried that Ollie isn't ever going to change this.

I'm p1ssed off with the ineptitude being shown in ollies selections

He said himself he didn't buy howard and hayles to play together, yet he does it?

On the phone in he said of fryatt: 'poor matty has yet to play' well who does that come down to?

I honestly started telling myself on saturday that i see a different game to most people, because where as I see 10 flick on's to hayles who is, simply, too old and slow to run off a pass, Ollie believes it worked quite well...

How can you judge Hume and DJ on their averages? DJ has been injured and Hume always on wing, how are you working out these averages? out of 0?

Fryatt is a bit different as to an extent he had a period where he was given the opportunity to show his worth but didn't impressed, still, i'd rather let him nonce around on the ball than waste the 11th man by letting him sit down in the corner of the field to collect his pension.

You know what! I'm not gonna bother tonight, will be the first game I've missed for 18 months and I don't care because it'll be bloody freezing and I can't see passed us getting a sound thrashing

I will be livid if Hayles plays after his performance on Saturday, mainly because I'll have to put up with Alex blithering on about him all game.

Campbell must be match-fit by now, he's had three sub appearances. Time to give him a start.

Ollie maybe pig headed as he did say on that interview that he will continue with Hume on the right despite his moaning. What makes me laugh is if you look through the threads from early season, you`d read loads of people on here saying the same thing, get him in midfield!

Admittedly I haven't been to a game for a couple of months now so haven't seen how badly they have played apart from on the box but again, Ollie admitted he didn't get Hayles in to partner Howard, more that the other strikers haven't done as well as he had hoped, probably in body language or maybe training sessions? Again I have read he rates DJ so it will only be a matter of time before he gets in for Hayles.

Lets give him time to get the right reaction from the players....

Hayles and Howard have had long enough now, they've been first choice since we played Southampton in the cup, it didn't work then and it's still not working now. I cannot see a reason why he is pursuing with playing them together other than he likes Hayles and won't drop him. Hayles would be much better used coming off the bench in my opinion.

I'm not a big fan of Fryatt, but our away approach needs to change. Either him or DJ need to start tonight for me. It's time for some proper changes to be made, not carrying on with something that's not working.

Strangely, I didn't think saturday was MASSIVELY poor.

There were periods we played some good stuff and the away team will always have moments of being dangerous.

But for me the partnership of hayles and howard was screaming out to be changed, before we even kicked off.

I'm very happy with holloway, he says the right things and has made a couple of astute signings... he goes about things differently for sure which I don't mind i'm confident he'll do well.

But this is beyond contructive criticism, howard and hayles DOES NOT FECKING WORK!

We'll probably win 1-0 tonight with hayles scoring and a few of you will start saying 'oooh look say sorry you were wrong' but that would only fabricate a sh1te pairing

He will start them up front tonight or with Hayles out on the left.

He loves his route one at the minute and he absolutely bums off Hayles.

Just listened to his interview, and yet again he said some good stuff BUT worries me about his take on the Plymouth game, saying we didn't deserve to lose AND how he doesn't see too many changes for tonight. I think he has to make at least one change, i.e drop Hayles for any other striker, Fryatt, DJ or Hume would do better, i'm sure. I just hope if he is willing to show this faith, then tonight we see reasons why, and we see a better approach and better individual performances. Otherwise, I can see a lot of angry fans on here questioning his selection and tactics!!!

Or perhaps, just maybe, it's bad management?

You mean Master Surgeon Barry Hayles?

Barry's got to go now. Before the Plymouth game he was doing Ok for himself, but after that performance I feel the team needs a new approach. None of this hoof ball up to to Howard, actual football would be nice.

And to do that I'd like to see DJ start personally. I'd settle for Hume (and Fryatt at a push) but I think DJ's the one who can cause the most problems. To use Campbell effectively we need to get it on the floor and pass it through to him.

I'm confident that Howard and Hayles won't start tonight. Holloway's surely had enough of it.

Ollie even said himself that Hayles & Howard were not who he had in mind as strike partners. I think he had hoped the wingers would have settled in straight away, leaving Hume to play upfront with Howard but that hasn't happened yet... :(

Bring back the Mighty Matty thats what I say, give him a chance with Oakley/Ze Hungrys behind him, he was the only one to (quite sublimley) test McCormick on Saturday and he was only on the field 4 minutes.
