Rich Fox Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 steve howard???? what an absolut useless waste of money and space!!! what the heck does he do for us??? we just boot the ball up to him because he's big, then the useless twat loses it or slices the ball somewhere!!!! 3 goals in 19 games??? and 2 of those he scuffed!!!!! fryatt needs to start ahead of this donkey, ok i know fryatt missed a sitter tonight, but at least he has a go!! i know this sounds harsh but howard is a total waste of space and if he starts, we will go down Steve howard is proven at this level you dont become crap overnight and he has banged 3 in today so i hope this shuts people like you up bet you also think olly should go. If anyone should go it should be fryatt.

If anyone should go it should be fryatt. I don't think so, Fryatt shouldn't go! Howard took his chances really well and it makes a change to see someone banging the goals in. But remember Howard was playing in his correct position, Fryatt wasn't!
DBEightyFive Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 Doubled his goals tally for the Leicester career today!! Well done Stevie
dandannieldanok Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 Yes, WBrom have better players in every position, play better football, and just generally are better than Brizzle. Therefore the table lies. Ok then, if Leicester were in Bristol's 2nd place (3 points in the automatic places) playing turgid football or West Brom's 4th place (5 points away from the automatic places) playing nice football which would you prefer? I would rather be as high as possible, I couldn't care less about pretty football to be honest. Each to their own though.

I'm not necessarily saying its about playing good football, its a number of points, i.e having better players, of course i'd rather be where Brizzle are, but that was'nt my point. I'm not slating Brizzle here, just stating that West Brom are better in most departments, yes Brizzle have more points, but thats football. Look at us, we shouldnt be anywhere near where we are.

MC Prussian Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 I'm not necessarily saying its about playing good football, its a number of points, i.e having better players, of course i'd rather be where Brizzle are, but that was'nt my point. I'm not slating Brizzle here, just stating that West Brom are better in most departments, yes Brizzle have more points, but thats football. Look at us, we shouldnt be anywhere near where we are. Success in football is based on two (three) factors: Teamplay, winning mentality and luck. We've had neither of the three. At least not on a constant basis. The table never lies. But the team on paper does.
FilboFox Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 Still don't think that Howard is good enough... OK, he scored a hat-trick today but its a one off and unless he can prove himself week in week out, then I still say he oughtn't be in the team!
lcfc_jme Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Delighted for Howard today and obviously I hope he can kick on from here, but we as a club are great at filling supporters with false hope and optimism and shooting it to pieces in the very next game. I fear some of you are going to suffer a Lackzo-moment here and all jump aboard the Howard bandwagon, only to be confused as to where the Howard that played today is for the next couple of games. Like I've said in the past, I think Howard can be a good player for us if we play to his strengths, not just lumping it to him all the time, but I'd like to remind people that one swallow doesn't make a summer. Consistency is the key, no?

lcfc_jme Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Agree totally, but i think you're fighting a losing battle there. Oh absolutely no doubt about it but I'm used to that anyway! I can understand all of the excitement, I mean, we're on a shit run of form and have just beaten promotion contenders 4-1 on their own patch with one of our strikers finally scoring, and a hat-trick at that. But all of the words used to describe him prior to today: "donkey", "shit", "useless" etc, should not just be forgotten due to one outstanding game. I'd like to think most people are sensible enough to realise that this is the case, and that Howard needs to really kick on and produce this sort of form on a consistent basis. I fear, though, that this will not be the case, everyone will have such high expectations of him for the next game and he'll fall woefully short, leading them to come back and brand him a "useless fcking donkey" by 7pm next Saturday! Bloody football fans, such a fickle bunch

Bloody football fans, such a fickle bunch Well thats Leicester fans summed up for you, if he has a bad game on Saturday, he'll be a donkey again, and the fans are probably why we are where we are, we expect too much and it creates too much pressure that the players cant deal with. We have to be patient, but we are wasting our breath!
ASH17LCFC Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 One good game doesn't make him a legend. Well done Steve and im glad that you came good today but we need that everyweek now more then ever. Lets hope Steve Howard Leicester Career began today.
bcfc_4_life Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Yes, WBrom have better players in every position, play better football, and just generally are better than Brizzle. Therefore the table lies. Thats ridiculous, thats like saying barnsley didn't deserve to beat chelsea because they have a better squad. The quality doesn't matter, points do.
act smiley Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 No, its like saying that Chelsea are a better team than Barnsley despite getting knocked out - and generally they are, even though they were poor that evening and deserved to lose. The table shows the most successful team, not the best team - the table doesn't lie, it just answers the wrong question.
MPH Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Still don't think that Howard is good enough... OK, he scored a hat-trick today but its a one off and unless he can prove himself week in week out, then I still say he oughtn't be in the team! are you hoping for us to sign ronaldo or somthing? so who WILL be good enough?
MC Prussian Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 are you hoping for us to sign ronaldo or somthing?so who WILL be good enough? The Holy Trinity. God in goal, Jesus walking all over the opposing midfield and the Holy Ghost working his magic from the sideline.
Flynny Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 The Holy Trinity.God in goal, Jesus walking all over the opposing midfield and the Holy Ghost working his magic from the sideline. Amen to that.
Legend_in_blue Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 One good game doesn't make him a legend. Well done Steve and im glad that you came good today but we need that everyweek now more then ever.Lets hope Steve Howard Leicester Career began today. Howard can only produce this week in week out if he is provided with service. For once, he got service. Give him the service and he will score. Up until recently, our play, particularly from midfield, has not been productive enough in terms of creating chances for the front men. The absence of Clemence has improved things. We need attacking central midfield players to create, not ones who sit back and play the 5 yard pass left and right. I could do that. Clemence out.
luffbra Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 The Holy Trinity.God in goal, Jesus walking all over the opposing midfield and the Holy Ghost working his magic from the sideline. Surely Jesus would be in goal ... after all, Jesus saves ...
