Simi Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 But ST's will rise with inflation, I can accept that as a legitimate reason.I don't see how for instance the east stand should rise in price but the west stay the same or what ever stand? However we may be looking at this the wrong way, maybe it will be the cooperates and the west stand that will rise It won't go by stands. It will be age ranges... Like Under 22 and whatnot.
newtonfox Posted 24 March 2008 Author Posted 24 March 2008 Six games to save our season. we are doomed
Kilworthfox Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Have you spoke to the FoxesTrust about this? Surely they'd be willing to hope with publicity and whatnot to people that aren't on the forums. Ah yes the Foxestrust representing the fans, I remember the day Milan gave them their seat on the board and they represented the important issues of the fans and made a real difference to the way the club is run.
Matt Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 I don't think a protest will work! Not because it's a bad idea but Leicester fans on the whole are awful supporters. They have no passion, no voice on match day, if I was a player I would not give 2 s**ts about them. 95% of the "fans" can't even sing when we are at home so how many will protest? I would say that most fans who are "protest material" and likely to go along with your suggestion, are situated at the top of the Kop and L & K (I believe this as they are the most vocal and expressive on match days) and the club may like their revenue they get from those fans, but dislike the trouble they cause the club with the H&S clipboard holders by standing at Home. For the above reasons you won't get the numbers to scare the powers that be. Even if you do get what 300, the club may not wish these "type" of fans to be back, as, are they more trouble than they are worth? Fair enough they may be considered "trouble-makers" should it go ahead but moneys, money at the end of the day. Fans are slowly filtering away as it is and the club needs/will need all the support it can get (Especially if we do go down), Lets say £350 (I'm not sure ) 300 x £350 = £105,000. I don't think the club would be that happy to not wish to see that type of money coming in, regardless of the 'type of fans'. At the end of the day any owner/chairman is in it for money but remember Milan doesn't even support us he really is here just for money maker.
Dames Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 If everyone actually did something and organised some sort of boycott the club would have no choice but to slash ticket prices. And if we did it other fans across the country would follow suit and there might actually be a breakthrough in the fight against rising ticket prices. OK. Back to reality. Nothing like this will ever happen. The club know the majority fans are stupid enough to follow thier team no matter what, they don't care about what we think. All they care about is fleecing as much out of us as they can. And they will continue to take everyone for mugs if people keep up this 'I will follow them no matter what' mentality.
Kilworthfox Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 It won't go by stands. It will be age ranges...Like Under 22 and whatnot. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr I feel a rant coming on Well how does the club help young fans attend matches if a discount is not given? Maybe we should charge pregnant women a foetus rate of £5 as I would hate to think some were getting in for free. How far will the club go to squeeze struggling people? i took my nephew to the Hull match on Satdi and i have to say that now the match day experiance was really really poor for him. Before the game he was offered a chance to go to the cinema but was insistent that he wanted to watch Leicester. Well we had over 30k fans at the ground And to be fair we started off playing quite well (didn't last obviously) . So he just sat there watching rubbish, being frozen, no atmosphere and not much reason for him to want to go again. I can remember when I went with my dad and uncle that it was a great day out and you looked forward to then excitement and the crowd, today's match day is a poor 2nd to 20 years ago IMO. We left at 85 minutes as he wanted to go home. I never wanted to leave Filbo. To me it just goes to show that by trying to make football more of a family day out they have diluted the whole reason for going, some excitement and enjoyment which was not present on Satdi.
Shrenchel Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Generally all for it. However, although I've seen the 'fans turning their backs on the players' protest look very good and be quite effective I'm not sure it's the best tactic to employ before a game where their performances will determine whether we stay up or not. A 'sit-in' is a good idea though. Have a look at this . The kop staying behind for half an hour after the game to sing in protest of the american owners. They did it for a fair few games, that's one of the better videos, there's loads more on there. Obviously with our lethargic, docile supporters it'd be hard to get anything like going but reckon it's the best option.

I never said they were trouble makers you said that! I Sit in L and I know many who also sit in K and the Kop and they are not trouble makers, we just remember what going down Filbo was like and wish to try to keep a bit of that spirit in 2008. That spirit it seems is not wanted in football these days, if i thought i could pay 25% extra not a mere 10% extra and get to go to a Filbo Kop atmosphere it would be the bargain of the century as far as I would be concerned!
Ultra Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Come on folks, get real. The minute the media gets word of the protests, there'll be a storm of outrage from fcukwits willing to brand the organisers as disloyal, even traitors. Look what happened with the Trust last year. The time for protesting on season ticket prices is at the end of the season. At the moment we have far more important fish to fry. As for a lap of dishonour, surely even Birchenall isn't brain-dead enough to insist on one this year?
purpleronnie Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Go look organising a protest with most of th apathetic ST holders who probably only too happy to spend more money.

Spot On! My lad was trying to generate some atmosphere (fat chance!) on the back row of the Kop and the stewards were trying to throw him out for standing up. He was injured at a previous game when one of them pushed his mate over. And it's fine for everyone to stand up for 15 minutes at half time. Mad World! We need an area where everyone who actually wants to support the team (vocally) can get together and stand up and sing. But the club seem more interested in packing the ground with heavily subsidised uninterested kids who go away with the impression that (a) the footy is crap; (b) the away fans have more fun and © the rest of the ground has less atmosphere than the moon. I don't get it.

I chose mine carefully aswell, I know the majority of people who sit in those areas just want something that everyone wants - A good atmosphere. Its the odd chav that sit in those areas that let it down though, I chose the word - Considered. Because due to the fact of the odd chav or the scuffle that happens, the people that sit in those areas get tarred with the same brush. If a protest went ahead but as you said originally only about 300 odd would stay from said areas of the ground they would just all be tarred with the same brush again.

I don't get it. Exactly! Why don't the club do something about it? Rather than a single protest we should form a collective group who can put serious pressure on the club! Via our ST money. That is essentially what an "Ultra" group is abroad. 1) A compromise should be sought with a balance of ticket prices to attendance in a standing area. I guarantee if the club opened up a standing area lets say L and K then they would be full every week especially if ticket prices could be lowered as you can put more fans in that area standing than you can seated. 2) have an area where if you are a family you have to sit in a certain area. Like I said before I did not take my nephew into L as it is not appropriate for a child but some people do! Children should be in the family stand end of. 3) Bring back our PHG, some traditions should be kept!

I get tarred with a brush because i sit in L, but that's not my problem, I know what I enjoy and I don't care what opinions some ignorant idiots think about a group just because a fellow few Idiots are within that group (L/K).
davieG Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Ah yes the Foxestrust representing the fans, I remember the day Milan gave them their seat on the board and they represented the important issues of the fans and made a real difference to the way the club is run. I chose my words very carefully! It's a pity you didn't apply the use of careful words to your first statement which is full of absolute poppycock. The haven't got a seat on the board, have never has a seat on the board. All they've ever had is an observer on the board and that was given by the previous administration. Milan has given them nothing other than an audience.

davieG Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 For all the good that bit will do I've sent an email to MM via Jones.
Daggers Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 If anyone that gives a shit simply doesn't renew their season ticket that the job would be done. If there's enough people objecting then a change will happen. If there isn't then angry people will have the satisfaction from making their point. ...only it won't happen like that. There will be me and three others - everyone else will buy a season ticket at the inflated price and continue bitching for the next seven months. It's a shame. I was planning on moving to L1 as well to bug Tom and Raj every match.
