Max Mosley sex scandal

Just as well Max Mosley didn't bump into Rupert Murdoch's doppelganger, Herbert Burdock, ('Dandy' to his friends) in that parallel universe so close to our own. There, being outed as a kinky Nazi in a scandal sheet like 'The Screws' as payback for crossing Dandy would be seen as getting off lightly as this anecdote shows...

When Dandy was first setting out in the cable biz with his channel 'Cloudy Vision' he decided that the path to world media domination lay in buying up airing rights to live handball. He was lucky in that he had an inside man on the media rights committee in the Handball Association (HA), a certain Ben Gates who was also the chairman and main shareholder at Kensington Handball Club (a debt ridden entity which he had acquired some years earlier for a nominal sum). Ben could be relied upon to give Dandy the inside info on rival bids from competitors like 'Dependent Television' and the 'Politically Correct Corporation' (PCC) and to do the statutory arm twisting of fellow committee members into accepting Dandy's tenders.

Things were all going swimmingly until one evening when Ben showed up at one of Dandy's monthly orgies on the 999th floor of his Nudes Corporation HQ where the following spot of banter was overheard by a slightly inebriated dominatrix in a black leather basque:

Ben: Alright Dandy?

Dandy: Couldn't be better. Glad you could make it. I've been meaning to have a chat with you about the latest round of talks at the HA. Rumour has it that the PCC are prepared to stump up half the licence fee for the next five years. What's going on?

Ben: Wish I knew Dandy, wish I knew. They're cutting me out of the loop...

Dandy: How's that then?

Ben: Word's out that my position at Kensington is under threat. A young Turk has come in and started splashing the cash on facilties and players. Worth a mint he is. We've invited him onto the board but he wants to take over the whole shebang and take it private. Bad news for me and er... for you too I'm afraid. You realise that if I lose the chairmanship of Kensington I lose my seat at the HA?

A NINE MONTH PREGNANT PAUSE FOLLOWS

Dandy: This whizzkid... what's his name?

Ben: Hardy, Natt Hardy. Shimmy shammy house and contents broker.

Dandy: Never heard of him...

BEN AND DANDY EXCHANGE LONG AND MEANINGFUL LOOKS

A couple of weeks after this conversation 'Cloudy Vision' broke the story that Natt Hardy was vaporised in his space shuttle as it burned up on Earth re entry whilst returning from Kensington's match on Venus in the 'Solar Cup of Planets.'

For the quick witted, deep thinkers and mildly paranoid: the characters and events described in this drama are purely fictional. Any similarities to real events and persons living or dead are completely accidental.

I suspect your DVD Player might be playing up Ultra - there were two further instalments before Gates robbed Headingly Handballers of their stadium, incorporated it in the South Pacific Totty Islands and leased it back to HH at such an exorbitant rate that all their fans had to make up the difference between match receipts and the rent with a compulsory purchase of a 'Northern Snot and Sputum Pasty' at every home game.

No, before he made this fine misanthropic gesture Gates steadily built up Kensington's debt before Dandy Burdock bailed him out by introducing him to a a renegade Shangri Lalian treacle magnate, Spartan Isaacovitch, who payed him squillions for his worthless shares. Spartan was only to happy to pay over the odds for the money laundering operation that masqueraded as a handball club because he desperately needed a vehicle to get the remaining 99% of his fortune out from under the noses of the Shangri Lalian authorities.

It was not only Isaacovitch though who was peeved by the actions of his grasping former government. Eventually MI69 come knocking on Spartan's door for 'help' when Vlad The Impudent, President of Shangri La, claimed exclusive treacle exploration rights under the North Pole. Her Maj's 'dark forces' persuaded Spartan to bump off one of Shangri La's triple agents, Nikita Nitinenko, by pissing the dregs of a Stella night into the vodka of the unsuspecting 'funny.'

When MI69 blamed Nitinenko's assassination on Vlad, the sagacious 'Spooks-R-Us' viewing populace tapped a knowing collective forefinger on the right side of the public probiscus. But Nitinenko's corpse was never viewed publicly and rumours persist that a walking, talking facsimile of it has been seen and heard 'generally getting in the way' at the Totty Islands' registered office of Headingly Stadium Offshore Holdings Ltd.

The End (and the middle bit too)

This semi sick satire might be half true (well, nearly half)

So today is the day we find out if he got away with it. With Ecclestone turning on him yesterday I feel the guy will be leaving with his P45 later today.

Should he stay or should he go?

Mosley stays on as FIA president

Max Mosley has won a vote of confidence to stay on as president of motorsport's governing body, the FIA.

More than a third of delegates did not back Mosley at Tuesday's meeting in Paris but he won 103 of 169 votes.

Mosley called the vote following a newspaper report that he took part in a "Nazi-style orgy" with prostitutes, though he denied Nazi connotations.

US delegate Robert Darbelnet said he was disappointed with the outcome and may withdraw his country's membership.

US delegate Darbelnet says unhappy members could split from the FIA'

Mosley, 68, has kept a low profile since the News of the World broke the story in April but, following a two-hour discussion during which frank views were exchanged regarding the Englishman, Mosley was understood to be delighted after the result was announced.

The reaction from some delegates, however, has been markedly different.

President of the American Automobile Association Darbelnet said the result could split motorsport and lead to a breakaway from members from the FIA.

"We should not rush to judgement on this," he said.

"But one of the potential ramifications is the division or a split way from the organisation that might in fact provide an opportunity for like-minded clubs to find a representative body in a different form."

There has been mounting pressure for Mosley to go over the past two months, both from leading national motorsport federations and industry giants such as BMW, Mercedes, Toyota and Honda, who feared for their image and sponsorship money.

Following the result German motoring organisation, ADAC, was quick to voice its anger.

"We view with regret and incredulity the FIA general assembly's decision in Paris, confirming Max Mosley in office as FIA president," said a spokesman.

"This is a reason for Europe's largest automobile club to let its functions and co-operation in FIA working groups rest at world level.

"ADAC will stay with its decision as long as Max Mosley holds the top FIA office of president."

The fact that Mosely has kept his job is terrible. For me, it is not improtant what he gets up to in his private life, unless sed private life effects his professional life. He is the president of the governing body of one of the biggest sports in the world, he therefore needs to be on his best behaviour 24 hours a day 7 days a week, as any negative behaviour could have negative effects on the sport.

If his private life didn't effect his job, then let him get up to what he likes. But there can be no doubting, that these findings have effected Formula 1. The only reasons he kept his job, is the due to the F.I.A being consisted of people he appointed.

A sad day for Formula 1. Yet more negative publicity.
