Kilworthfox Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 I hear our supporters berate the bloke but after seeing the Championship today that cheating bastard Sharp has piled on the pressure. I will make the ultimate admission here not I, SAF, MON, Cloughie or Allah himself could have got a result out of yesterday with refereeing / lineo'ing? like that! We must stick with olly! I don't think we will go down, but even if the worst happens he must stay. Stability is needed and a clear head must judge his performance. Also Olly deserves a whole season with a pre-season to judge him fairly.
Daggers Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 Yes...let's all superglue ourselves to an effigy of Holloway. L1 better be up for some bags of glue fun on Saturday.
Zingari Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 agreed ; ollie out , on a bus, train, plane or whatever

Webbo Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 Damn straight. I don't know if he's going to get us promotion or not but it's not fair to judge him on this season. If we're still struggling come Christmas then they can sack him with my blessings.

dandannieldanok Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 I agree that practically no manager could have saved yesterday once the officials had cocked up but Holloways still been crap for the most part. At least he is a bit jolly though, I know it's pretty meaningless because we're crap, but I'd rather be losing with Ollie taking his shoes off and having a laugh than losing with some miserable bugger like Gary Megson or Bryan Robson.
Webbo Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 very seasonal and i hope you have a merry yuletide too I'd still send him a card.
jonw88 Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 We're still not safe yet, do you reckon he will be got rid of if we do go down? We should stick with him either way, let him have a full season and pre-season to do the best we can in whichever league we're in.

Zingari Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 http://www.sundaymirror.co.uk/sport/footba...98487-20374094/ the rumours keep coming along like buses Kevin Blackwell could have his choice of two jobs at the end of the season. Blackwell, 47, looks certain to be asked to carry on as Sheffield United boss on a long-term basis after transforming the Blades' fortunes. But the former Leeds and Luton chief is also on struggling Leicester's radar. Foxes owner Milan Mandaric is eyeing up a summer swoop for Blackwell if he decides to ditch boss Ian Holloway.

volpeazzurro Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 What do you think of the original lineup? 4, 1, 4, 1 (as Walshy commented, a bit Sven). I thought Bell played well on the right of midfield last week so its 'Ollie' logic to put him on the left then I suppose and Fryatt on the right of midfield or wing? Was this the best team selection/formation that could have been selected? I don't think that team and formation would have won anyway personally. I personally think that whether we stay up or go down we should get rid of gobby 'I love the media' Ollie at the end of the season come what may as I think he's out of his depth and clueless! Just my opinion, not saying its right. Cheers.
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 All alternative managerial options are always far worse than what we've got already. What it needs is a radical change in playing personnel. If DJ isn't commited to the cause, start with him.
syston_fox Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 oh god no Tell me about it!! "Blackwell take your shoes off" doesn't have the same ring to it!

He wouldn't choose us over Sheff Utd anyway, unless he is offered a completely ridiculous amount of money.

Thracian Posted 6 April 2008 Posted 6 April 2008 oh god no What the hell has he done wrong? Nothing against the efforts of our 10 men yesterday but I'd have swopped his team for ours any time.

Well they can keep Blackwell and we'll just swap Beattie for Fryatt - job done! Him and the big central defender were the only real differences between the teams I though (although I dont remember much of the actual game)

Mind you, I wouldn't swop their fans. What would they be like if their team was struggling?
