The Reverend Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Tiger is poised, but I honestly can't see him doing it. If Casey can get off to a good start like he did yesterday, who knows. Cant see Tiger winning it now. He cant seem to come from behind to win a major. And at 6 shots, its an uphill struggle. Though i dont think the winner will finish better than eleven under, could be an interesting day. The only thing is, i would say that none of the players above Tiger have ever really had this experience before, so he has a chance to catch them if they slip up. I'd like to see Casey win, i like his game, or Harrington, though he is quite a way back. I still fancy Mickelson though. He's 9 shots behind, so isn't really expected to win now, i think he could do well today.

It's amazing how Woods has crept up the leaderboard without playing great golf and without getting many birdies at all, it is so typical of him. I can't see past Immelman personally, very consistent with two 68's and a 69, only nerves will stop him winning it now. Hope I'm wrong and Casey will win it. C'mon Paul

C'mon Paul The point about nerves hits the nail on the head, I think Immelman's putting will lose if for him today. And Poulter's shanks yesterday
SamL Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 And it's my 21st today. Very nice! Happy birthday son. I never would've expected Immelman to win it, I didn't think he'd have the bottle but it's nice to see that he got the job done in the end. Considering the conditions, I wasn't really suprised that so many people dropped a lot of shots.
FilboFox Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Well done Immelman... decent golf and he did well to hold his nerve at the end against the oncoming Tiger. Personally I wanted Tiger to win because he is just so good and produces incredible shots time after time but Immelman did very well these past 4 days and so is a worthy winner.
Ric Flair Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Immelman's driving over the 4 rounds was exceptional after 60 holes he'd only missed 4 fairways. Frightening golf.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Immelman's driving over the 4 rounds was exceptional after 60 holes he'd only missed 4 fairways. Frightening golf. Exactly and you dont see too many golfers lead virtually all the way just generally great golf bring on the next major
Manwell Pablo Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 I hate golf. Before anyone asks, I'm in this thread to tell you all I hate golf, I have nothing productive to add, at all. Golf is shit. Au reviour.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 The most amazing thing about the last round was the fact that none of the leaders shot a below par round (though, in another way, they were all below par. Oh the irony!!) Casey must be kicking himself for his +7 round. A -2 would have won him the tournament.
dandannieldanok Posted 14 April 2008 Author Posted 14 April 2008 Immelman was the only one who held his nerve, despite the wobble on the 16th, but by then he'd done enough. It was also suprising to see Woods lose his bottle on the greens. He could have threatened Immelman's lead if he had made a few of his birdie chances and a couple of par savers. His reaction after the long putt on the 18th said it all really. Anyway, well done Trevor, fully desreved victory. Best player over 72 holes by a fair distance.
Leicester Lass Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Fair play to Trevor, some fantastic golf over the four days Tiger must be kicking himself about the short puts he missed though, a couple of birdies on the par 5's and I feel it might well have been a different story.
