TrickyTrev Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 The moment where Henderson went up for a free kick with a minute or so left was indicative of the lunacy that is running our club at the moment. We were drawing 1-1, Henderson looked at Holloway and asked if he should go up and the fruit cake actually said yes. The point we earned today was pitiful, Colchester are a terrible team who were going through the motions, but it could be the point that keeps us up. "'Ollie" was prepared to risk this on the off chance that our keeper that can't get a high ball with his hands never mind his head, does a Jimmy Glass. It was typical of the shambolic emphasis of hope over any planning or intelligence that has destroyed the second half of our season. It was the same sort of crazy (lack of) reasoning that leads Holloway to play 4 strikers as soon as we go a goal down or switch his wingers and strikers round just because we aint got the break through in a match we are dominating (today). We're going to go down this year for a lot of reasons, but the primary one is that we have an absaloute muppet in charge of us who is better suited to Sunday League than professional football. Most of you lot seem to want him here next year as well! Why?

Fox You Forest Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Hasnt this already been cleared up. Holloway said he was trying to get Henderson to take the freekick because he wanted Kisnorbo in the box for his ariel ability but Henderson misunderstood and went up instead.
Monk Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I put my head in my hands when hendo went up. What on earth was he thinking. Highly irresponsible of him to do so and if Ollie directed it (I did not see this) then simply careless.
Koke Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Holloway tried to get Henderson to take the free kick and send Kisnorbo in the box for his aerial threat, but good old Hendo misunderstood the whole thing and went up in the box himself.
AoWW Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 As long as he waves his shoes at them, some fans are easily pleased... That qualifies as one of the most condescending, pointless posts I've read in a long time.

But that is almost as mad! That leaves no defenders and just Henderson stranded. Any decent clearance whatsoever, and this was a free kick from the half way line that you would expect to be dealt with ease 9/10, and we would have been in big trouble. Kisnorbo or Henderson as the only line of defence.

Vardinhio Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I have to admit it was actually me who rang in after the match and mentioned this! Steve Walsh agreed with me and it was before Ollies interview so fair cop at the time I thought.
TrickyTrev Posted 13 April 2008 Author Posted 13 April 2008 No, it'd leave Clapham and Stearman at the back. I thought Clapham was on the edge of the box and Stearman was definately up weren't he? I hadn't actually heard Holloway's interview and had only seen him gesturing to Henderson to go up, I suppose communication is difficult at pitch side, hand signals can easily be misinterpreted. I still remain that we were being reckless post getting our goal and that there is a total lack of reason behind anything that we do as a side at the moment

Yep. Thats what he said in his post match press conference.
Leicester_Mad Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 fook it i said at 1-0 down i would rather lose 2-0 than draw 1-1. Still same applies. 1-1 is an abysmal result...WOW that point may save us but if we stay up by that one point then fooking hell next season will be a struggle. Henderson going up shows how desperate we are but again i would rather he misses a chance and we draw 1-1 or lose 2-1 than him not going up and still draw 1-1.

Leicester_Mad Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 you actually think that 1 point will keep us up?
FilboFox Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Who gives a flying monkeys!?! 1 point or none... it wouldn't really have made much difference in the long run as I doubt that that one point will be the difference between us staying up and not as it'll be wins vs Barnsley and/or Sheffield Wed that will decide it! To be honest, it was a last gasp attempt by the players to get the win and considering that you lot have been questioning their loyalty and their desire to win, you ought to be happy that he was willing to risk everything in order to win!!! Get some perspective people... it was one VERY small and insignificant part of a disappointing match which we ought to have won. Had it cost us a goal then maybe you would have a point but it didn't. End of.

AoWW Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 you actually think that 1 point will keep us up? Ah, so that was the point you were trying to make. Sorry, I was just trying to get my head around your post... it's late... I was confused...
Fat Ron Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 you actually think that 1 point will keep us up? You actually think that losing 2-1 would keep us up
Trav Le Bleu Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 You actually think that losing 2-1 would keep us up and sod 1 point, at the end of the day it might be goal difference!
Leicester_Mad Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 You actually think that losing 2-1 would keep us up I dont think we will stay up
Manwell Pablo Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Somes our club up really, no communication or understanding between the players, or between the players and the manager.
Thracian Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Somes our club up really, no communication or understanding between the players, or between the players and the manager. I thought Holloway was the communication king!
