PAULCFC Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 we're all very quick to point the finger at the coppers when they act like the gestapo. But today i couldn't believe these lads and lasses were from the same force that police Sheffield.Couldn't have been more friendly or helpfull.Directed us to the leisure centre, then having spent an hour in there told us where the best chippy in Barnsley was!
Floating Fox Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 Hmmmmm They were certainly better than Sheffields lot, but wouldn't let anyone leave the escort so we got to the ground at 1:30ish...Oh well we had fun in the concorse pre-match

Mikey Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 The stewards were good inside the ground. Just let us get on with our cramming as many people in to as little seats as we could.

Sods Posted 19 April 2008 Posted 19 April 2008 Stewards were great. If anyone saw the aisle (cant spell?) then that was against all health and safety shite produced but they thought feck it (good on them), they let everyone have a good day and let people enjoy themselves. Well worth the 12 quid

SamL Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I thought the policing was pretty good. Nowhere near as bad as the Sheffield lot and didn't seem to be heavy handed. The stewarding was quality, no different from last year. Just let us get on with it, can't complain. In fact, I don't think there was any stewards above the stairway between concourse and seats. All in all, a good day out.
Toby or not Toby Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I noticed someone get chucked out when we scored, i didnt see him do a lot wrong.
the beange Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I'v not got a bad word to say about the stewards infact i forgot they were there it was that good the police force were fine for me as well felt bit bad for some lad at train station who got pulled away by his ear for singing you can shove your yorkshire puddings up your arse
Daggers Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Policing was excellent. Some random, drunken fat bloke got lost in town and they helped him on his way to the ground.

Daggers Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 They felt sorry for you I invoke that reaction in many
BigGibbo Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I noticed someone get chucked out when we scored, i didnt see him do a lot wrong. He ran on the pitch next to me I stopped at the ramp to jump about.
Guest Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I invoke that reaction in many How many times have I told you? You can invoke all the sympathy in the world, I will not wear that nurses uniform.
AoWW Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 How many times have I told you? You can invoke all the sympathy in the world, I will not wear that nurses uniform. You're so harsh. Poor boy. (No, I'm not wearing it either!)
renards Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Sounds like the police did well considering they had to deal with a minority of baby faced, brainless plebs mascerading as football supporters. I had the misfortune of getting the Sheffield to Barnsley train full of decent fans and elderly shoppers, and then the pond life scum got on the train. Average age of around 15 and about 8 stone wet No surrender to the IRA? Rangers Rangers We hate Pakis, We hate Pakis (I sat next to 2 Asians at the ground, both in the clubs colours, cheering + enjoying banter as we all were) We hate Catholics.. The Goverment Anything pro BNP We hate Polish Were going to Barns'R'ley. Basically having ago at any creed, colour, nationality whilst smoking, banging on the ceiling and being silly boys Obviously relying on strengh in numbers, lowest form of life who would wet thir nappies if you shouted 'BOO' Islam and Catholic are the worlds largest two religions, they are playing a dangerous game. Made you proud to come from Leicester.

Made you proud to come from Leicester. I was on the same train, didn't hear these chants, but I'm pretty sure of who it would of been. I guess if you'd of seen me you'd of put me and my mates in the same category, which is a shame, but it's how people look at things now.

AoWW Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Which gives me a marvellous idea for Saturday I'm not sure pink's your colour.
Daggers Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I'm not sure pink's your colour. You just don't want to be shown up - pink is so my colour...just ask Tommy G

I was sitting right in the middle, in fairness some of the lads didn't get invloved, but I suppose guilty by association. Sad thing is I don't think they believed in or understood what they were singing about 'no surrender to the IRA'? + St George Etc Stupidly naive + a very dangerous game.
Shrenchel Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 There's quite a lot of young, enthusiastic, vocal lads coming through now which is definitely a good thing but I agree some of them are fooking ******. Have ocassionally heard some pretty disgusting chants this season, but its important to remember it is always a very small minority. On the train to sheff yesterday there was a couple of older geezers complaining about the large numbers of 'young chavs' runing away games. People don't really realise it's these yiounger ladsmaking a lot of the noise, we'd not get an atmosphere like yesterday without them.

I disagree with this view (in bold) but I agree with the rest.
Shrenchel Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I disagree with this view (in bold) but I agree with the rest. Depends though. If lads just shut their mouths and look a bit embarrassed whilst their mates are chanting these idiotic songs then they've gotta take some blame. If they were my friends I'd tell them to shut the fook up.
