The canny Foxes have already made an approach to ask if the England prospect could join them for a full season as part of his development. Welbeck could follow Hull loanee Fraizer Campbell's eye-catching progress at Championship level from United. Welbeck is pencilled in to figure for United in pre-season friendlies as the next part of his promotion towards stardom. Ferguson likes Holloway, who took a couple of players from Manchester United during his Plymouth days - and that relationship may be key to the possible deal. Holloway, however, is battling to stay in his job.

Geo V Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 We haven't done what many of the successful Championship sides of the last few years have done and cashed in on the quality young players from the top clubs in the Premiership and bought them in on season long loan deals. Im not too sure about this lads abilities but I would think that if he is getting rave reviews he could be one that we have a look at and bring in for next season and I hope two or three other loanees follow.

Why? Looking forward to next season we actually have a damned good squad. One or two canny signings and we'll be set. I think this'd probably be a really good idea, assuming we stay up and Holloway is still around. Maybe he's setting this up so he's got a carrot to dangle in front of Milan if he tries to sack him.
