Just seen the highlights on World, have to say some of the build up play & finishing was very impressive...especially good as it was such a young team & they made it look so easy.

Leicester City Res 8-1 Oldham Athletic Res

Stu Vose

A strong Leicester side proved too much for a young Athletic outfit at Hinckley United yesterday.

Lee Duxbury was forced to go with youth for the game, with the squad made up entirely of apprentices and trialists.

Not one professional was on duty, while the Foxes fielded a strong side with £1million striker Steve Howard only able to make the bench.

Ashley Chambers (2) and Ricky Sappleton had put the hosts three goals up by the 36th minute, but Ross Thaker replied from the penalty spot following a handball.

Chambers and Sappleton both went on to complete their hat-tricks, with Ryan Beswick and Billy McKay also netting in the second half.

The reserves will play their final game of the season on Monday when they travel to Bradford City.

From Oldham OS.

These guys should really do their research

I will also slap the first person who asks why Steve Howard is on the bench for the reserves. Just a warning.
But WHY was Steve Howard on the bench....

Excellent game the front trio of McKay, Sappleton & Chambers rippped them apart, all excellent well worked goals and Sappleton's were quintessential net bulgers.

Beswick had a productive game and was involved in two or three of the goals special mention for Kish, I don't know if he has a problem at LCFC but he put in a committed performance coaxing the young players and always available getting stuck in as well as laying off some lovely weighted passes.

I have just seen the video and I was particularly impressed with the Beswick goal and the second Chambo goal. :P Frankly they all needed and need to be tested at a higher level. :D;)
