Danglo Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Its true what they say about the atmosphere away from the Kop. I took my missus to yesterdays game, so to make it less chavvy for her we went into the family enclosure.. Although it looked like the Kop were making an effort, it could not be heard very loud AT ALL. I know we lost, but i'm referring to early in the game when things were going well. No wonder every set of away fans think our atmosphere is rubbish! I miss Filbo
WetFlannel Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 ANOTHER thread. I suppose we haven't had one in a while...

I miss Filbo I can assure you that, up until the Sheff Weds equaliser, we were making a huge noise in the kop. I don't think there was any moment during that period where we didn't have a chant going.

More to do with the so called 'acoustics' of the stadium.
AoWW Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 ANOTHER thread. I suppose we haven't had one in a while... Exactly...
Chimp Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Im not implying that you weren't trying, as referred to in my original post. More to do with the so called 'acoustics' of the stadium. It's not the acoustics, it's the wall of shit on the pitch and heavily concentrated around the technical dugout which sucks all the noise (and hopes and aspirations) out of the stadium.
Danglo Posted 27 April 2008 Author Posted 27 April 2008 Exactly... Sorry to offend your eyes! If you don't wanna read it don't click on the thread, that part seems obvious to me.. I'm a casual user who wants to state an opinion of my own and doesn't want to search through old threads because I don't spend every waking hour on here! So if you havn't got anything constuctive to say then..........

I remember 10000 in Filbo seeming louder (but then again I was 11 yrs old so the ears would have been in a better state

So it's understandable that, sitting in the family stand, you wouldn't hear the kop too well. The fact that the noise gets onto the pitch is a good thing IMO, it's the players who we want to hear us, not the away fans.
Corky Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Well I sit in the Family Stand and heard the Kop loud and clear, as I do whenever they sing a song. Can't understand how you didn't hear them?
SamL Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 I thought it was the best atmosphere we've had at the Walkers all season.
purpleronnie Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Although my last game was against villa I always sat in the kop and have to say the atmosphere was always shite.
STUHILL Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 I thought the Kop was very loud, loudest I've heard it for long-time, great atmosphere. Understandably went quieter when went 2-1 down. Don't quite no what some people expect to be honest.
Scow Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 I don't think you can moan about the crowd - the best it has been for some time. We tried to do our bit - shame the players didn't do the same.
Sods Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 On the atmosphere. For the F1 crew. What was that catchy song we were singing! I swear ive never heard it before or maybe i have. I can't explain because i can't remember it. All i can remember is going crazy for the ring of fire. I thought the first half was great and actually the atmosphere was the best since ive moved to the south stand or we have ever had at a championship game held at Filbert Way. Standing everywhere which was great. Couldn't see the left hand side of the stand but i wouldn't have thought their were standing. It could so easily have been my all time game at Filbert Way. However...

I miss Filbo If you wan't to chat about atmosphere. PM Kilworth Fox. He loves all that.
Vardinhio Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Stop moaning about the atmosphere please. It was good on Saturday. I don't really care what the away fans think. The atmosphere was built to help and encourage the team. Over 31,000 couldn't inspire them to win possibly the most crucial game of recent years so I don't really think we're the problem. The problem is that they're shite!
Sods Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 7 Nation Army? It's one of Andy's German songs It is as well! Couldnt remember where it was from. I thought it was awesome! Not going to stop singing that now. Where are you lot heading next year? Ched said he didn't no on Saturday, i have no clue also.

I'm holding out hope to stay where I am, grown quite fond of our little clan at the back of F1, but I think i'm about teh only one who doesn't want to move Not too keen on L1, plus I imagine there's not much room up there.
Mwah Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Hi leicester fans. I didn't hear your Kop at all yesterday. Nor most of the near stand [only those near us] and for a brief period I could hear those in the family stand. I've seen a lot of the 'atmosphere' related threads but I never heard it yesterday [obviously I was sat in the away end].

Well im pretty much certain not going to L1. I think i will probably stay unless something majour happens. Probably the best place in the South Stand.

I was at the back at Barnsley the week before, the atmosphere was one of the best i've had in a long time..... A pint with relatives from Barnsley after the game said they were surprised with how quiet we sounded.. didn't stop my fun though!
