It's laugh out loud funny, although I'm never sure if he's quite as much of an idiot as he makes himself out to be

I believe that the earlier podcasts where his genuine stupidity, but the more successful he became the more he played on it... either way I still listen to them all over and over again...

Have to say I do think he's genuine - maybe he just exaggerates , I used to listen to XFM and he was already a producer then and known for saying odd things, this just multiplied when he was given much more air time when gervais had his show.

My worry is i actually agree with some of his veiws,but he does exagerate too much at times.Very funny though.

There was a documentary about him. They did an IQ test and he scored 83 (the average is 100).

I think he is dim and does say stupid things, but it was milked when he started getting wider recognition. He did get picked on a bit by Ricky and Steve Merchant though.

I love a bit of Karl Pilkington got into the podcasts from the very start when they were free on the Guardian website I love the bit on the Gervais live DVD with his book of freaks!!! so funny it hurts
