Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Dowie isn't my chosen preference, but I can't understand the negativity towards him. Did a good job at Palace, didn't work at Charlton, and wasn't doing too badly at Cov until fired. I'd still love Royle, and, given that Mandaric had talks with him in November, it's not impossible.
ibbosuk Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Mike Newell. Or Paul Ince. I wouldn't mind Grayson, but i think he's unattainable really now. Yes I would agree with those 3 as well as Dowie.
maddog Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Don't think we will get Ince or Ferguson now they are in the same division as us. Although i would love Ferguson here but i just can't see us getting him or any decent manager. Thats why we should stick with Ollie.
Tevez Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 What the fcuk is wrong with Dowie? I'd take him any day of the week.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 What the fcuk is wrong with Dowie? I'd take him any day of the week. He's ugly therefore cannot be a good manager
Moreton Posted 5 May 2008 Author Posted 5 May 2008 The ambition is still there, we have just taken a major step back. We just need the managers such as Ince and Ferguson to notice this and go with it.
Finchy Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Anyone who's been managed by Ferguson, just look at Ince, Steve Bruce, Mark Hughes, Roy Keane. Lee Sharpe anyone? But seriously people, why would Ince come here? He's got everything he needs at MK Dons.

Thats why we should stick with Ollie. RAYBOYS History..... Apart from being one of the worst (if not THE worst manager in the history of LCFC) Very few people would buy season tickets for next season if he was in charge. There would be up-roar if he was left in charge. IT WON'T HAPPEN, look at any of the Polls, The phone in's, and they weren't exactly singing RATBOYS praises when they had to shut down the OS message board!! Like I say, not one chance in a million of Hollohead being here next season. NONE!
lcfc2k Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Combination of Mickey Adams and Paul Ince Top young up and coming manager up for a new challenge of league 1, he has proved his worth at league 2 level. However the Reason I say have a figure like Mickey adams is things do go balls up, he has been there done that, and yes maybe his signings were one year signings however they were experienced and generally had a decent eye for a player who could do a job, I still think he was harshly treated after our relegation after the whole Le Manga debacle but is an option Id seriously consider - He cant be any worse than Mr "I play Championship Manager on the PC" Holloway I think he seriously played out his team with his tactics on CM, if that team got the result, he stick out that team with the same tactics! ITS A FOOOOKIN GAME!!!
dandannieldanok Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 The ambition is still there, we have just taken a major step back. We just need the managers such as Ince and Ferguson to notice this and go with it. To be fair the clubs that Ince and Ferguson are at have as much if not more ambition than us.
lookwhaticando Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I'd try for Joe Royle tbh. Again. Might be worth a go. Is it not high time for Scoweh to roll into town and suggest Dave Penney?
Ultra Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 To be fair the clubs that Ince and Ferguson are at have as much if not more ambition than us. Peterborough? With average gates of 7000? You cannot be serious in suggesting they could EVER be as big a club as us!
Scow Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Again. Might be worth a go. Is it not high time for Scoweh to roll into town and suggest Dave Penney? Yes, it is! Failing that, I was more than happy for Royle to take over last season. Not sure what happened there - probably put off by Mandaric. And shouldn't you be starting the Nigel Worthington campaign? Get on it!
Finnegan Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 He's ugly therefore cannot be a good manager Clearly a page three model.
jerakin Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Ince and Ferguson are NOT realistic. POSH maybe a smaller club, but have sane wealthy backing, and DF isn't daft enough to jump into MM's nuthouse. Ince similar. We need to find the next Ince or Ferguson I am afraid, or some old washout who may put the bottle down long enough to get down the training field.
Linekaaaah Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Ollie is out, that's almost certain. Thank christ. Ince won't come here, although if he was out of work i'm sure he'd be tempted, but since he's just got MK Dons up i'm sure he'll wanna stick with them and get promotion twice in a row. Same goes for Ferguson. I think it's obvious that MM wants to go for Dowie, and has for some time. Since he's out of work, it's looking like a certainty. And he can't do no worse than Ollie did. We should have tried for Chris Coleman when we had the chance. 4 good years at a Prem club, unfairly sacked. How things could have been SO f**king different... Still don't know who I'D have here though... Mourinho? Is he still out of work
TrickyTrev Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 If half of the side is going to be made up of academy players, and I suspect it will be, having the manager that brought them through the club might not be the worst idea in the world. Beagonhole knows which ones of our youngsters are capable of playing professionally and how to get the best out of them, perhaps he is the man for the job? Maybe throw Gerry into the mix under some capacity in order to appease the fans. This would meet out requirements. Someone who wants the job, is cheap, will bring stability to the club and might actually be half decent at it. If not, the step forward Mike Newell. Did an amazing job at Luton but has been unable to get back into football for stating the obvious, that the system of agent fees is rotten to the core.
MikeyT Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 do you reckon davies would still come to us? Not a chance! Not in this league!
wurmer Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Anyone who's been managed by Ferguson, just look at Ince, Steve Bruce, Mark Hughes, Roy Keane.Lee Sharpe anyone? But seriously people, why would Ince come here? He's got everything he needs at MK Dons. Lee Sharpe is a bigger 'sword-smith' than Walshie.. lock up yer daughters..

Did an amazing job at Luton but has been unable to get back into football for stating the obvious, that the system of agent fees is rotten to the core. So why the hell would someone like Mandaric who is known for having extremely dodgy dealings with agents bring him in? It'd be Martin Allen mk.II for sure.
LCFCUSA Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I quite liked Frank Burrows.. seemed to have his head screwed on right.
act smiley Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 If you like a huge trek to Colchester to find we're playing 5-4-1.
deepbluedevil Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Suprised no one has mentioned Steve McClaren. Has said he would go below the championship to get back into work.
