The People's Hero Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 James Beattie/Craig Beattie/Warren Beaty dream ticket.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 We should have tried for Chris Coleman when we had the chance. 4 good years at a Prem club, unfairly sacked. How things could have been SO f**king different... The same Coleman whose side finished one place and one point above Leicester? If we'd managed to score on Sunday he would have been a League One manager by now!
Phlashman Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Ok, I'm one of the few in the Ollie should stay camp. But since we're playing this game, lets just make some realistic points. 1. Paul Ince. Not going to happen. MK Dons are going to be serious competition for us next season. Same goes for Fergie Junior. 2. Billy Davis. Not going to happen. He can walk into any championship job. 3. Steve Walsh (or Welshie! for that dumb women on the radio the other week). Yeah what we need now is someone with zero manageral experience and to make a villan out of one of legends. No managers last for ever and just think how it'll feel for us to want him to leave! Just don't do it. 4. Dowie. Yes Milan loves him, maybe because they both have grumpy face problems. Sure he did well one season at Palace but since he's sent Charlton down and nearly manged it with Covscum. The guy is like Peter Taylor, he's riding on 1 achivement, all the way to blue square premier league. We don't want to be one of the teams on he way there. The only names I see as a likely are Simon Grayson, but only if the situation at Blackpool is really bad (which it probibly isn't now they've stayed up!) and maybe Mike Newell.

Hahaha, i was listening to that on the way back from the match and i was shouting at the radio the whole time. Silly woman!
act smiley Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I'm sure I saw some bizarre S4C interview last year when I could only get reception for that and BBC2 in which Iwan Roberts claimed to have his badges and want to go into management. Why not.
kevinwpratt Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I think deep down we all know its going to be Dowie....... Give it a couple of weeks and he will be in
Simon Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Ince isn't going to leave a stable job at MK Dons with a bit of cash to flash for a job at an unstable club in the same league. Anyone who thinks he is is living in a dream world. We had the chance to bring him in and we blew it. Fook knows who we'll get now.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Whoever it is in charge I really do hope they include someone with a bit of Leicester City passion and pride such as Walshie or Taggart in the first team set-up. It's gonna be Dowie though

Ozwin Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Someone mention Steve McClaren? We'd be the laughing stock of the country...AGAIN!
AmericanScott Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 How about me? 4-2-4 formation Shoot from kick off to get the fans excited.
Ozwin Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Get Alan Shearer in! He knows about scoring goals and poaching and if we got in a defensive minded no. 2 like Walshy/Taggs then we'd have the back sorted. Alan Shearer wouldn't go to Newcastle as he'd tarnish his legendary status with them if things didn't go well, come to Leicester and he's got a clean slate to help where our biggest problem lies...scoring goals. Just a thought.
act smiley Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 While Holloway isn't a bad manager as such, I think he'd continue to struggle to rebuild. The problem is that he's obviously good at giving clubs progress from a sound base, when that base hasn't been there his rebuilding efforts have been mixed (3 relegations, 1 promotion?). I just think his position is a bit untenable really.
The People's Hero Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Jean Tigana just popped in for a cuppa and apparently he doesn't want the job.
TrickyTrev Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Holloway is a good manager. Stop your speculation In what sense? Judgement of player- Poor Motivation- Demoralising Tacttical Nouse- Non-Existant Leadership- Self-Pittying I honestly think he is the most inept manager I have ever seen us have. Including Taylor. Everything he has done at the club has been disastarous. I have never seen a manager single handedly hand so many games to an opposition in such a short space of time with such bizaree tactics. Or one use the media so badly, constantly getting at the players and appearing to be nothing more than a self-pittying fool. It's one thing to fail to build a side, but quite another to take over a mediocre one and turn them into a shambles.
Number 6 Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 why not consider nigel clough? because he hasn't the experience and has only managed at a low level. I saw Burton Albion come to York to play, they looked an ok side, but I wouldn't say Clough showed any signs of being a great manager, yet.
andyh1884 Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 If Holloway went I'd be more than happy with Richard Money being appointed. Did a great job at Walsall & knows the division well. About time he got a chance at a bigger club
lookwhaticando Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Yes, it is! Failing that, I was more than happy for Royle to take over last season. Not sure what happened there - probably put off by Mandaric. And shouldn't you be starting the Nigel Worthington campaign? Get on it! I had a discreet (it was in my sig) campaign for Worthington running for the last six weeks or so. It gained no traction. If/when Holloway is removed, I'll start 'er up again. There's just one piece missing right now... and that's Nationwider and his Brianstorm.
Ric Flair Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 John Collins Mike Newell Dave Penney Russell Slade Any of those 4 would represent sensible choices for where we are right now. Collins is probably nailed on elsewhere in some capacity, but any of the other three are realistic and have proven themselves at this level we now find ourselves in. The football Luton played under Newell and the alarming rate of Luton's decline since he was brutally honest is also evidence of his talents. Plus he knows how to get the best out of the enigma that is Steve Howard.
Fox You Forest Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Jean Tigana just popped in for a cuppa and apparently he doesn't want the job. I thought i was the tea ladyboy why didnt i see him?
