Backbone.

In my opinion we have 5 players here that form the basis of the backbone of this club. Anyone else should be up for sale in my eyes.

Iain Hume, Richard Stearman, Gareth McAuley, Joe Mattock and Patrick Kisnorbo if all 5 stay next year we have the basis of a half decent team.

It will be those who we get to play around them next year that will show me how ambitious we will aim to be.

Of the current squad only Matt Oakley, Harry Worley, James Chambers, James Wesolowski and Paul Henderson and maybe David Bell would be in line to stay alongside the other 5.

This would leave us with a half decent defence (with a bit of cover) a couple of midfielders and a single striker.

We NEED to build on this. Out with the deadwood that has not worked this season and in with players to play around these players who have the ability and want to play for Leicester City.

In my head we need to get in an expierienced keeper who will play like Carlo Nash did on saturday week in week out. Logan is ok as 3rd choice. EG - Nash, Bennett from Sheff Utd, Duke (Hull), Ricketts (Bradford), Davis (Southampton) or Our Russell at Stoke.

Young hungry defensive cover alongside an expierinced head such as N'Gotty (whose borderline to stay). EG - Livesey (Carlisle) Eardley (Oldham) Gerrard (Walsall)

A new midfield, full stop. King can step, Weso can boss League 1 and Oakley will too if he stays. Bell has the ability as a winger but is the only one at the club who does. No longer can we play Strikers like Hume out of position to compensate, we need at least 2 wingers with the ability to beat a player and cross a ball with a bit of pace alongside. EG - Invincible (Kilmarnock), Puncheon (Barnet), Andrews (MK Dons), Frecklington (Lincoln)

Which brings me to Strikers. Iain Hume has the passion and ability to put the ball in the net now and then but THE MOST IMPORTANT SIGNING WE WILL MAKE THIS SUMMER NEEDS TO BE A STRIKER WHO WILL SCORE GOALS. And a shit load of them. Fryatt will NOT do that. Preferably this will be a big ****er to win headers to play alongside Hume in the way that Beattie, Fuller and John have done this year. Hate to say it but Pericard could do that. Alongside the young hungry strikers we have in Chambers, Sappleton, Odihambo, McKay and even Kee and John. EG - Pericard or Offiong (Hamilton) Rodgers (Port Vale)

If anyone disagrees i cannot see why, if any new manager comes in i cannot see why they wouldn't stick to a similar gameplan. Mods please move this to wherever you see fit aswell please.

The problem there is that they are our largest financial assests. Milan will not want to cough up a further £10m to keep the club running and will have to sell. Hume (West Brom), Stearman and Mattock (Villa), McAuley (cant remember as I type this who it was) and Kisnorbo wont get sold because of his injury but he might go in January. Lets not forget he will still want to play for Oz.

I do hope they dont get sold but they want to progress their careers and may want to move on but most of all selling them will minimise the losses and makes business sense.

I would like to see some of our players on loan called back and given a proper chance to show what they can do. Its a time to rebuild.

Therein lies the problem and has been for sometime - we have no chance of stability when key players are sold and replaced by 10 different lower quality players.

And McAuley was Ipswich and Hume Norwich.

Agreed Hairy!! Mcauley is wanted by Ipswich!! I can imagine Dj, Howard, Clemence, Oakley also leaving!! I hope we get some real hungry players in, and give a few of the reserve\youth team, including weso, king and gradel!!

Hayles and Howard would seem ideal for League One... but your right that Fryatt wont get a look in and i think DJ will be off to a Championship club, we'll also get bids for Hume I'm sure, as it is what about McLeod, he's not coped well with the step up to the Championship (and that was one of the reasons i was against us signing him last summer) but League One could be good for him, if Charlton are willing to sell (and they seem to be) then I'd go for him even if just on loan for a season.

I agree McLeod would do a job for us and i would definately not be against it but Howard is codshite and luckily i think he'll piss off sharpish to be honest. Hayles id keep as quality backup if not just for the effort hes put in even at 36 and him working with the youngsters.

Cant see that happening at all!

West Brom are now Premiership and Hume isnt good enough imo for the Premiership!

I can see every player you have listed, going tbh.

They are our best 5 players and will go.

Just wish they would all reject other offers, unless (who ever the manager is tells them to fook off, please get rid of DJ) and then we can go up, simple as

- That is extreme, surely!? Yes they have been piss poor but Gradel, Bell, Jimbo, Hayes, King, Clemence gives us a very decent backbone with only 1 or 2 extra needed. We will need to replace defenders who are more likely to have attracted interest given our excellent defensive record last season

- I hope not. N'Gotty is part of the deadwood as far as I am concerned.

No and very much NO!

And yes it is a bit extreme and having looked at what ive said afterwards ive kind of contradicted myself. The other 4 you've mentioned are keepers definately but we need 1 or 2 wingers plus a box to box attacking midfielder such as Frecklington. The young lads Gradel and King NEED to be played next year and that is a full stop.

However it cuts - it will give another stick for all you Ollie haters to beat him with.

The players released will be done so under his direction, Mandaric is no fool and will sell Mattock if the big offer comes in but anyone else going will be because they are deemed not to have a future here on the basis of their performance and/or salary. Kisnorbo and McCauley will jump ship.

I'd be sad to see Hume and Stearman go but the rest I'm not bothered about as long as we build for the future in an intelligent manner.

Just, please God, no more summer signings based on YouTube clips!

There will be departures, but it all depends on what Mandaric's intentions are. He still wants the Premiership so selling our best players and then aiming to go up twice in quick succession would be a massive gamble, one that would be hugely unlikely too.

Forest didn't have the fire sale first thought when they went down, from what I remember. Commons has stayed with them for 3 seasons even when he could walk away on a bosman to a pick of higher placed clubs.

It all rests with Mandaric and our manager. I think there needs to be a clear out and if we are offered decent transfer feee's for some players that generates money then so be it too. But there needs to be a long term plan, not just a hit and hope type job.

No - don't be an idiot! Blimey, what do they teach stoodents these days?!

This season's clever Chairman will be selecting players based on how good their Facebook page looks. Fact.
