lookwhaticando Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Newell has a tidy record in this division doesn't he? He's not my preferred choice... I think we ought to look elsewhere. Whatever happened to that long list of up-and-coming managers we used to trot out whenever we suggested removing a manager? Your Tilson's, Penney's, etc...
Flynny Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Ince if possible, Newell if Mandaric steps down as Chairman, Holloway if no-one decent turns up.
Thracian Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Very unlikely MM and MN getting on. I imagine "who MM would get on with" is another handicap to us getting a decent manager anyway and another reason I wish MM would sell up and move on.
Daggers Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Ince if possible I'm finding the mention of his name almost as annoying as LFF finds mention of Kisnorbo leaving. We may as well be mentioning Big Phil while we're at it.

Your point is only just about true, but thats why I followed it up with "If possible". For someone as ambitious as him to come to a managerial graveyard like this is unlikely, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility by any means. I think an ambitious Championship team or a struggling Premiership team with a sacked manager will nab him during the course of next season, but if he's not getting offers we stand a chance.
coale39 Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 I imagine "who MM would get on with" is another handicap to us getting a decent manager anyway and another reason I wish MM would sell up and move on. Very true. I doubt many managers would like to heave all their family to leicester, get everyone setted, then shown the door in 2 months..
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 We should have Billy Davies as manager. Also we should have a Chairman, who is a cross-between Milan (for his cash) and the football-knowledge for hiring managers of Martin George. We'd be ok then
TrickyTrev Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Why are people even mention Mike Newell's name? He is a shocking manager and he would not get on with MM. Haven't people realised yet that MM wants manager who will lick his butt and do what he says. That's why he got rid of Allen, because they were clashing, that's why he got Megson because he would do what MM says, the same with Holloway. I'm afraid to say that we will never really get an aggressive manager while MM is chairman. In what sense? He did a great job at Luton.
lookwhaticando Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 He [Mike Newell] is a shocking manager Hartlepool - P: 29 W: 13 L: 7 D: 9 -- 44.82% wins -- 1.66 points per game Luton Town - P: 200 W: 83 L: 68 D: 49 -- 41.50% wins -- 1.49 points per game Promotions: Hartlepool (League Two to League One, Runners Up - Automatic promotion). Luton Town (League One to Championship, Champions - Automatic promotion). As a player, he won the Freight Rover Trophy (which is now known as the Johnstone's Paint Trophy - a handy bit of experience for the division we find ourselves in.

It's quite possible he may wish to stay at MK. If he does they could be in the Premier League in five years. They have the potential to become another Reading or Wigan.
Legend_in_blue Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 I think some of us fans need a reality check with the whole 'let's get either Davies or Ince in bandwagon'. Neither is realistically going to want to come to us. I can't see it. That doesn't mean I don't want to see it. It just means I'm not being delusional.
Ultra Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Davies is a possibility. He's certainly looking to return to management and would be an improvement on what we have, but I think MM should look at other options first.
The People's Hero Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Newell and Mandaric???? HAHAHAHA. We might as well just change our name to Bung City FC.
stez Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 brian little. now let hear no more about all this 'til it happens. he is from glasgow isn't he?
Scow Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Promotions: Hartlepool (League Two to League One, Runners Up - Automatic promotion). Well positioned smiley - he fuc ked up the title despite a commanding lead.
stez Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Well positioned smiley - he fuc ked up the title despite a commanding lead. to be fair, i'd take that over spluttering to an automatic relegation etc
Scow Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 to be fair, i'd take that over spluttering to an automatic relegation etc Hardly an automatic relegation, but yeah, I like simplistic statistical outcomes.
lookwhaticando Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Newell... three words...NO ****ING WAY!!! God you're so negative. Why do you have to be that guy? Well positioned smiley - he fuc ked up the title despite a commanding lead. Indeed. Very naughty.
FilboFox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 God you're so negative. Why do you have to be that guy? Indeed. Very naughty. I'm not negative... I was one of the people who was convinced we would stay up last year until the final whistle had been blown at the Britannia and said that given time Ollie would turn it around... in fact, my optimism was annoying to some people so that clearly shows I'm not negative. The only reason I said what I did is cause I can't stand Newell at all and if he came here, well... I'd be on his back from day one!!!

lookwhaticando Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I'm not negative... ... I'd be on his back from day one!!! That's very negative. You wouldn't even give him a few games to show you what he's about? For shame. That would help the cause!!!
