demon_dog Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 While I like the idea of Stearman as possibly being the new captain. I feel that as yet he is to young and inexperienced. We will probably make a new signing in the summer who has the relevant experience, so voted for this option.
Raj Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Johnathon Terence Or Steven Gerrard Or Franklyn Lampard Or Rio Di Janeiro Franz Ferdinand.
Daggers Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 From the current squad it would have to be Wesolowski for me... he has the gumption and isn't afraid to use it. If he could play more than five games on the trot it'd be a start - but until he can demonstrate anything approaching consistency on the field he's an absolute non-starter for this I reckon.
lildave3 Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Why do people vote Stearman? I'm guessing just to try to persuade him to stay Or...just maybe....because they want him to be captain? It's a long shot I know, but...
Scow Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 If he could play more than five games on the trot it'd be a start - but until he can demonstrate anything approaching consistency on the field he's an absolute non-starter for this I reckon. I agree - providing he can sustain a run of games, he's the best choice we've got at the minute.
Zingari Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 theres a few votes for, "someone else from our "currant" squad " what about the raisins and sultanas squads
Mr Happy Posted 28 May 2008 Author Posted 28 May 2008 I agree - providing he can sustain a run of games, he's the best choice we've got at the minute. I also agree, but again its all about whether he can maintain his fitness, what goods a captain that doesn't play half the season?
Chimp Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 If he could play more than five games on the trot it'd be a start - but until he can demonstrate anything approaching consistency on the field he's an absolute non-starter for this I reckon. Well, obviously, I took it for granted that he'd be a regular first team starter next season. Injury free, match fit and raring to go...
Ultra Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 I think this is the best poll ever ever ever ever ever.I think we need to sign a captain. Our lot couldn't lead a cat on a string Hear hear. But let's get a new manager first..
Mr Happy Posted 31 May 2008 Author Posted 31 May 2008 Hear hear. But let's get a new manager first.. Well that shouldn't be too long now according to reports today. Maybe we'll have a new captain by this time next week
FilboFox Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 I'd say Oakley... he's got the most influence on Football Manager by a LONG way and the players loved that I made him captain... bad thing to be basing my choice on but hey, what else is there to go on!?! At the moment, it'll be amazing if anyone can properly pick a captain for us knowing that they'll do a great job...
Mr Happy Posted 15 July 2008 Author Posted 15 July 2008 Well it seems most posters were wrong choosing stearman  sidering we now pretty much seem to have a complete squad, with theexception of two/three possibly leaving and vise versa, who would you choose as citys captain now?
Ultra Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 James Chambers for me. Out of the present bunch, he's the best choice. Oakley's leadership skills were hardly in evidence at Hinckley last weekend.

I'm hoping that someone becomes noticeable during their time away, bonding. You have to assume that Pearson is looking for someone to start stamping their authority on the squad this week. I hope.
