Join the Billy Davies bandwagon

We've now had countless polls, opinions, odds etc on who should/will be our next manager but, after a few days of mulling it over, I'm firmly standing on top of the Billy Davies bandwagon.

The list of names I've seen looks fairly uninspiring to be honest. You've got your group of names of your "up and coming managers", your "seen it all before" types which have been through the mill one too many times, your "we'd love to have them here" types - but there's little to no chance of them arriving, and then there's Davies.

Would he come here? I think so. The more I think about it, the more obvious a choice Davies becomes.

From what I've seen of his teams at both Preston and Derby, both had something we'd always lacked - an extremely physical and well drilled organised presence with some attacking flair. We're too lightweight imo. We need a physical presence throughout the team more than ever now for this league 1 malarky, and seeing us well drilled and organised with some attacking flair should see us through. Davies is the man to bring this about. Bring him in.

He's needed quickly though. We can't wait about til June 15. He needs time (a) to kick out the crap (and there's a fair bit to sift through) and (b) bring in the sort of players needed to turn us into a well drilled, organised and physical outfit. With attacking flair.

What are people's thoughts?

I'm trying to be positive. :scarf::scarf::scarf:

From an outsider's point of view? Probably the best of the currently out-of-work managers, you really should do all you can to get him in.

Whether he'll come and work for your chairman is another matter...................

Well he took Preston up from League one, and then into the play-offs, he got Derby promoted to the Premiership, I don't think he will make the same mistake's with us as he did with Derby (poor signings) if he was to get us into the Prem....I'm all for this appointment.

love him to come here personally

he has a good record & i think he's got a bit of that all-important fear factor (like Ferguson, O'Neill, Cloughie etc) that makes great managers

will he come though? i'm not sure

NOOOOOO!!!! I want Avram

WE WANT AVRAM, WE WANT AVRAM, WE WANT AVRAM

in all seriousness though, i do beleive Billy will do a good job, and with the reports in the paper it looks more and more likely. I just hope he can get the best out of our youngsters rahter then buying in more overpaid crap.

No he didnt, David Moyes did.He did carry on Moyes good work and found David Nugent.

I dont know what it is about Billy Davies I jast cant bring myself to like him. But, as a manager he's got the qualities we need and we could do a lot worse!

You'll all regret this when the rumours start flying about and he leaves for a bigger club who are offering more money.

Have you not heard. We are the biggest club. We have the most money :unsure:

I know someone who works at Derby County and her family are heavily involved too and she said to me that Davies would become our manager at the time we appointed Holloway. I didn't believe it and it didn't happen. I've spoke to her since and she said that Davies was looking to leave Derby because things weren't going to plan in the Premiership. He was looking to come to Leicester but the Derby board discovered that this was his intention so waited until we appointed somebody before giving him the boot, just to spite him. Not sure how true that is but I'm pretty sure that the date of Holloway's appointment and Davies' sacking were very close to each other! Get him in I think.

Would be a good appointment, also just found out that he played 6 games 4 us

Leicester through and through then! Stuff Walshy and Larry!

billy all the way, lets be honest we can not appeal to that many managers in or out of work. yes we have a great ground, great support, great training facilities. however we have have mm, are a 3rd div team, and have a ruthless chairman(ive mentioned him twice cos he sacks lots of managers). Lots of managers would consider us if we didn't have mm, but it is a make or break your career.

mm is only second to roman.

sacked after poor form saw Motherwell gain just 3 points from 7 matches at the start of the 2001/2 season
Despite a difficult start to the 2005–06 season
Derby struggled in the Premier League, gaining only six points from fourteen games

Ignoring the whys and wherefores, three teams and three poor starts; Odds are that no matter the manager, we may well be in for a stuttering start to this one. I don't question Davies' ability but I do question the mettle of the supporters who have a proclivity to 'boo' because we pay our money and have the right to complain.

I'm coming round to the Davies idea aside from the fact that his name doesn't scan properly:

Billy Day Vies

Billy Day

Billy Day Vies

Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah
