People complain about Chelsea and the like "buying their way to success" yet no one seems to bat an eyelid when Gretna do the same.

Is it not the same principal?

What is wrong with that? :dunno: The modern professional game is as much about what happens off the pitch as much as it is about what happens on the pitch. On that basis "buying their way to success" is like any other type of investment. ;)

Am I right in saying that their benefactor is still seriously ill and unable to finance them anymore rather then having turned his back on them?

I think I read somewhere that he is unable to write cheques and is also unable to pass the reins to someone else due to the illness  I may be completely wrong it's just something I read!

Last thing I read on the Times website was that he is now 1/2 million overdrawn having spent everything he had.

Because this is a game. I't shouldn't be about businesses and investments.

I ****ing despise it.

But, to be fair, Brooks Mileson has been a total grass roots football supporter. The millions he made were given to the game, to a multitude of teams, to benefit those at the very bottom. He took on a tiny club and gave them some good times - promotions and a cup final. Surely even a bitter anti-business Nazi can begrudgingly allow him a bit of credit for the happiness he has brought people?

Have to feel sorry for them, but it was always going to happen. Brooks Mileson didn't have a never ending vasts amounts to spend but spent what he could.

They should be proud of everything they achieved even if they only existed for a very few years.
