I came so close to driving over an old man's head today

True story!

I was slowing down to turn right into Blaby carpark when this old man collapse into the road and fell between my front and rear wheel. I was about to pull across the road when it happened, when my wife screamed for me to stop. I had no idea, cos I was concentrating on the oncoming traffic and the pedestrians on the far side of the road. Wife jumped out of car and helped him up whilst I stuck on the hazards and got out. We sat him on a bench in the bus stop there, but he seemed right as rain (though reeking of alcohol - contributory factor one would think). Another lady who had been on the pavement said his head had gone in front of my rear wheel. Hate to think what would have happened if I had pulled off. We settled the guy down who didn't seem hurt, but a little disoriented - though again I guess that was as much from the booze as the fall.

Either he is one lucky guy today - or unlucky (so as to have fallen in the first place).

Life is fragile.

Which car park in Blaby? Wonder if my mum or dad were anywhere nearby!

Woah!

That's way worse than me clipping the wing-mirror of a parked car and not stopping. He was Polish, I didn't feel inclined to stop and pass the time of day with someone who doesn't pay road tax.

He took my photo though - did the drunk old man take your photo?

I hit some old ladies wing mirror clean off a few weeks back, told her to meet me round the corner to exchange details etc, but as she parked up and got out the car I quickly drove off. She wasn't polish though I don't think..

Naughty I know :giggle:

That's so wrong. I would have been well pissed off if someone did that to me. Mind you I would have memorised the registration and contacted the DVLA to get your details!!!

Some bastard wrote my van off and left without leaving any details. That cost me a fair bit of money.Personally I don't think things like that are funny .

TBH, it's nothing less than I'd expect from Tommy G

As for the old guy getting my photo, I asked a passerby, cos I was really worried I'd ran someone over without even realising it (if I'd done it on purpose that would be different! ), "Did I hit him?!" but he said, "No mate, it was more like he hit you."

Maybe I should have took his photo!

Not quite sure why TG is getting all the shit and I'm not - we both hit a wing-mirror and failed to stop. :dunno:

I wouldn't worry about it tommyG, the old dear would never have used her mirrors before performing a manoeuvre anyway

You b@stard Daggers!

You are just so obviously the underbelly of the uttermost depth in the dregs of human society that it doesn't need mentioning.

Oh and in TG's case he conned an old lady - I hope your mum has a rear-end shunt!

Bloody hell, I think you were both lucky. Some poor woman was hit and killed by a HGV on the A1 near me the other day, he failed to stop. It's either your time or it's not eh.

So true  and tragic

Must feel fooking awful to be an innocent driver that accidently runs over someone. I hope I'm never in this situation.

I didn't read your post properly, I thought you'd had your mirror clipped. You've really upset and annoyed me.:unsure:
