Daggers Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 C'mon people, just for a minute, think about how your reaction to the up and coming appointment is going to effect next season. You are a bright individual...but we both know that there are others out there who are a couple of red bricks short of a complete Lego set. They aren't sure what to think and so they'll just grab onto the first negative post they see. Hell, it is so much easier to be negative than positive, there's much less to invest and risk losing. We know that, right? Snowballing is not something I like to see on my favourite porn sites, nor is it something I like to see before the season has even kicked off...and I've seen it tonight in the Gregory thread. Whoever is appointed, whatever their history, no matter which other manager you would have preferred - if we don't get behind the appointment from the off then we really are going to be more fooked than Paris Hilton on a home-made video tape. I'm not throwing out some kind of nebulous call for lobotomised positivity - I just hope that we all put a little thought into the future we create next season in response to the appointment. Foxes.
Benji Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 One positive thread is enough for me Optimism, rationality and thought, this is NOT the way towards entertainment. Daggers out!

Agreed! Nothing more to say than that!
Zingari Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 i very much doubt that it makes an iota of difference whether the fans are behind the appointment of the manager or not. MON faced huge criticism from the fans but had the confidence in his own ability to eventually win them over .

"I want to. I really do. I just don't have it in me right now........" It is reported that J G whispering in Milan's ear at Rothely Court Hotel last night, also said this, his warmth splayed into the Serbians lower back. Two ex England managers stood outside looking up at the room from the car park discussing their interview performance. Both thought about their previous relationships with their Chairmen.
Cheese Me Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 i very much doubt that it makes an iota of difference whether the fans are behind the appointment of the manager or not. MON faced huge criticism from the fans but had the confidence in his own ability to eventually win them over . I'm sure it makes a huge difference. Imagine starting a new job and being told from all directions that you're sh!t at it and shouldn't have got the job before you've even started. You're confidence will be massively knocked and you'll be unlikely to get off to the positive start you need. MON is an exception, whoever we get is unlikely to be of the same calibre - wither as a football manager or self believer. That said I'm feeling positive this morning. I'm hoping we'll get an announcement today and I'm feeling good about it. I don't want it to be Gregory but I've got a sneaky suspicion it might be someone a lot more exciting (not based on anything before anyone tries to read something into this)

Even if it is Gregory, I'll still make my way up to the Walkers and cheer him as he walks out of the press-conference.
Darkzzz_ Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Yes... I am backing the unknown manager who ever it may be!!
Sods Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I will be behind the manager due to the fact that Im close to not caring who we get now. They might not be here long, they might be an aweful appointment. But its in Milans hands anything can happen. If its Gregory then i will still get behind the manager, hes an absolute jerk but what can i do.

As long as all three appreciate what a huge, massive and very big club we are. As Raj would so aptly say at a time like this - innit.
Noble101 Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Its the word going round the offices this morning, I will try and find out more and let you know! I for one won't be happy with him!!
beemeroo Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 No thanks. Seconded. I think I'd rather have someone controversial than a nobody. In all honesty what has his really done? A few caretaker stints at Newcastle and got flipping lucky in sending us down last year at Southampton...
