Thracian Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 This is true.Call Gareth if you want but really do you think we will get someone better? Depends who's looking and depends what sort of team you want to put together. I genuinely look forward to seeing McAuley in the Premiership. I'm sure he has a better chance with Ipswich than he ever did with us. But blink and you'll miss it even if the Tractorboys are promoted. Cos if McAuley ever makes a regular Premiership player his improvement will have to be such as to redefine the phrase "late developer".
WetFlannel Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Chambers - RB Stearman - CB Could work providing we keep them, which we probably won't.
Webbo Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Chambers - RBStearman - CB Could work providing we keep them, which we probably won't. Chambers will probably still be here, I can't see Stearman(or Mattock) being here in a months time.
markbsac Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 hes a rat.....f*** off gareth we go down he jumps ship.should be thankfull we gave him his chance when we got him from lincoln cheers for f*** all you RAT
Tilley Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 He looked extremely unsure holding his new Ipswich shirt up. Oh well, good luck to him, thanks for your service, your not irreplaceable.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 This is bull. He is still grounded as the day he arrived at Leicester Maybe the story I heard about him was not true then. I wouldn't be surprised if it was though. Either way, he said he didn't want to play for us any more and he won't be, grounded or not!
Calum McDermott Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 I thinkhe was superb for us. I hope he does well for ipswich.
Durnerz Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Did well in spells for us and a nice chap along with it, can't fault him wanting to leave though. The guys not getting any younger, its a good price for us. Cheers Sheepwanks, least you got something right Best of the luck to the bloke, looked one of the very few bothered come the end of the season.
Jaspa Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 oh well, he was on our subs bench most of last season, so £1.1 mil for a benchwarmer is good in my eyes
Tilley Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 oh well, he was on our subs bench most of last season, so £1.1 mil for a benchwarmer is good in my eyes
Tommeh Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Don'tt need players who arn't committed here. Did well and I always liked him as a player but yeah fook off Gareth. In Worley I believe.
Toby or not Toby Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 oh well, he was on our subs bench most of last season, so £1.1 mil for a benchwarmer is good in my eyes Where did you dream that one up
Jack Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 oh well, he was on our subs bench most of last season, so £1.1 mil for a benchwarmer is good in my eyes He's gotta be one of the players that played the most, surely ?
Maybes Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Good business IMO, will Harry be ready next season?? Indeed. £1mil is a good deal. He is not irreplaceable.
Darkzzz_ Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Is this thread not closed yet.... He was not a club legend, he has gone, lets move on, he will never be a "STAR" Just a very average defender..... I wish him luck at his new club, i do not hold any grudges, i think it's fairly good bit of business we have done here.....
lucylocket Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Hi, Ipswich Fan here. Just wondering how good a player Mcauley is. Havn't seen him play so just wondering how good a player he is.
Darkzzz_ Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Hi,Ipswich Fan here. Just wondering how good a player Mcauley is. Havn't seen him play so just wondering how good a player he is. Hi, Like i said very average, obviously each person has there opinions on certain players, i thought he did ok for us, nothing special, i do believe, however, that Magilton will get the best from him though.... I hope he does well for you.....
lucylocket Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 The only time i saw him play was when he scored 2 goals against us a couple of seasons back i think. Looked a good defender but wasn't sure as this was the only time i had seen him play.
Jack Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Hi,Ipswich Fan here. Just wondering how good a player Mcauley is. Havn't seen him play so just wondering how good a player he is. Pretty solid defender, nothing spectacular. I rated him and thought he was one of our best players last season. He is very good in the air and pops up and scores a few here and there. He isn't the best passer of the ball and does have a tendancy to hoof the ball forward rather than looking for a simple pass. Not the fastest in the world either but this isn't really a problem. A decent signing for you.
Tevez Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 Great bit of business. I thought we'd get 250k from him.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 Great bit of business. I thought we'd get 250k from him. Or a pie and a can of coke
Glenfield Fox Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 Hi,Ipswich Fan here. Just wondering how good a player Mcauley is. Havn't seen him play so just wondering how good a player he is. Improved in his time with us, good reliable defender but shocking passer of the ball. Useful threat in the air from set pieces. Magilton is a fairly astute manager and may be able to get more from him. Personally I think he's a very limited player and would be well out of his depths in the Premiership. Probably worth a punt from your point of view, and Ipswich have been determined to get him for a while, but for the money paid I think we've got the best out of this deal.
