morris1234 Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Highly unlikely seeing as an agreement has been reached for him and was due to be ratified until the manager chicken'd out of signing the contract and authorising the sale.Stears will be off before summer along with anyone else half-decent that Mendacious Mandaric can spring a couple of fivers from. Sorry...I've been touting him as captain this season as well. the thing is most people like stearman and he is a v good player and was one of the only ones to show he cared last season! i just dont want to see his talent wasted in the reserves of some premier league club if he leaves personally id want him going somewhere where he will get regular first team games but as we know it doesnt always work out like that! shame really!
Joe. Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 I'm not saying he would fail but how can anybody say Worley is the replacement for McAuley? I've not seen anything from him to suggest this, purely because he hasn't played enough so why has anybody else seen anything? This with the fact he's looked fairly poor in reserve games doesn't bode too well either...
lookwhaticando Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 But at least we've got good money out of it. Tidy little profit... shame it's nowhere near enough to cover our losses on a bunch of shit players we bought last season.

Sorry...I've been touting him as captain this season as well. What a fantastic word. I too doubt Stearman will be here next season and I also doubt Worley is ready. I'd personally take Gerrard just so I could have Gerrard on the back of my shirt
blueoveru Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Worley looked half sensible in the reserve game I saw against Coventry at hinckley .
JoeyB Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Jumping ship. Robbing bastard, scabbed a new contract out of us, then he was pants for the rest of season. I hope Ipswich get relegated now
lildave3 Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Disappointed to see him leave, don't blame him at all. For either leaving or relegation. Just hope we spend this money wisely.
Raj Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Disappointed to see him leave, don't blame him at all. For either leaving or relegation.Just hope we spend this money wisely. On the basis of the last 20 odd player signings Ben,i very much doubt THAT will happen!!!
Darkzzz_ Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 I am not to fussed!!! As i said he was just a better version of Matt Heath.... On the other hand if Kissa goes i will be annoyed
lildave3 Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 On the basis of the last 20 odd player signings Ben,i very much doubt THAT will happen!!! Well you never know... They might finally sign me.
FilboFox Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 1.1 million!?! Thank you very much! He was worth about a quarter of that in my book for what he did last year... hopelessly slow and inept most of the time... Good bye!
filbertway Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Maybe we could sign Melchiot and Michael Duberry with this money, I for one would love it.
Daggers Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Just hope we spend this money wisely. We may as well let a crack-whore look after it for the time being.
dandannieldanok Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Disappointed to see him go, but when you realise he was an integral part of statistically the worse squad of players this club has ever had on its books, over £1million is an excellent price.

Tevez Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Finally less of the route one. Thank fook Mcauley has gone, what an inconsistent player, can't wait to see more of N'Gotty (if he stays) and Worley.

I hope Ipswich get relegated now A new contract which he only served under for a couple of months... we've hardly made him rich, have we? I wish Ipswich all the best for next season. Hope to see them in the mix.
smokey Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 McAuley had his best game of the season when he wasnt playing with Kisnorbo. Last game of the season. Agreed, was superb against Stoke! Cant say the same for Worsley!

Legend_in_blue Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 £1.1 million gets you a defender who... 1) can't pass - along the ground at any rate 2) is fairly immobile 3) is apparently a 'star player' 4) puts in inconsistent performances 5) can be described defensively as 'dodgy' at best And to what does this amount to? Good business. I'm happy with that deal. I'm far happier it's McAuley and not Kisnorbo. I seem to remember the Charlton rejoicing at the fact that, they too, had poached one of our 'star players' at that time - McCarthy. But look what happened there.

Which Alan Pardew as found out the hard way like us!!!
Rich Fox Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 He was crap, dont know how he stayed awake long enough during the interview at ipswich. Bet he will be a superstar now hes left us most players we sell on suddenly start playing well at other clubs, i think they all hate us the bastards.

If Kisnorbo wasn't injured he'd be gone too and probably will be come January.
MikeyT Posted 18 June 2008 Posted 18 June 2008 Agreed, was superb against Stoke! Cant say the same for Worsley! Bloody hell, give the lad a break. He's only played a game and a half for us, and the full game, i believe, he was out of position was he not? Blimey!

In the past few years, the logic with transfers and LCFC always seemed to be "pay a lot and get something average to crappy out of it". If invested clever enough, you can get two, three or even four good to very good League One players for that money. If.
