Why no post?

Surely it merits a post?

Why?

No?

Post?

Quality all out attck from both.

Ok,khan got off the canvass, but this boy really is the real deal to beat a quality journeyman who's probably forgot more than Khan knows.

Toe to toe action and credit to Gomez as he took some massive punches and still kept going.

Also Khan looks like he's had some lessons off tommy G as he keeps getting bigger and more muscular!!

It was like a Rocky movie, what a fight!

Was gutted when the ref stepped in, probably for the best but you never know with Gomez, reminds me of the Pikey from Snatch.

Khan was class, punches were right on the button and showed a good chin.

Khan is only 22, and people forget that, he still has alot to learn and needs to develop!! I wouldn't say he's world class etc yet, he hasn't really faught the best yet, and on that performance it shows offensively that he is very good, but defensively he has alot to work on!!

Finally, he stepped up to someone half decent and put in a good performance.

He's starting to prove himself in my eyes.

Next, he should fight a hardcore Mexican. Then we'll see if he's good enough.

awesome fight, totally brutal... helped that i watched it really beered up in a bar in windsor, not helped by the fact that my mate was lying on a bench not far away with his nuts out

Awesome fight. But Khan needs to improve his defence.

Understatement.

Until he sorts it out he'll never win a major title.

Khan needs a strong trainer, who will tell him not to believe his own hype and risk ending up a waster like Naseem Hamed.

Agreed

BUT Khan is nowhere near as arrogant as Hamed was.

Hamed REALLY could have been a Great but got too cocky didnt he?

Khans a nice guy, but in the ring he fights with the same arrogance as Hamed but without the ability to not get corked. he's been put on his back to two fighters who he really should be beating easily if he's anything resembling title material.

Whilst it was fantastic entertainment. The fight did absolutely nothing for his title chances. You during parts of the fight you could see the worry on Frank Warrens face. His next fight will be another step down and I suspect it will probable last about 2 rounds.

No way is he as arrogant as Hamed.

Never in a million yeras.

BUT i do agree with the rest.

They should take their time with him and not rush him to get a World title shot.

Best to wait and keep learning, then get the belt and hold onto it longer.

Simple really!!!

Oh...welcome back MP!!! :D

Agreed, he's been overhyped too quick, the worst culprit being Khan himself, he keeps on going on about how he wants to be world champ this year and take over the world asap!!

FW openly admitted that Khan needs time, abig retractment from the previous yes it will happen. Gomez, a honest fighter said the same, he's not ready and he's along way off, he want as far to say that he would have beaten Khan in his prime!!!

I'm a bit split on Khan as I really want him to succeed but he is just doesn't seem to be progressing. His fights have been carefully handpicked and he does like to fight super featherweights who are moving up but even then he hasn't really looked that good. I think Warren and his team know that he has a weak chin by the fact that he is fighting smaller guys who have no knockout record but even then he is being knocked down by these guys. If he really is the real deal then they are not even close to being in his league.

If Khan goes anywhere near a world title fight boxing in straight lines with no defense to cover up his glass chin he's going to get severely beaten despite how fast his hands might be. The top three lightweights (according to Ring) are Joel Casamoyer, Nate Campbell and David Diaz and I just cannot see him beating any of them. Not only that but Khan is talking of fights with guys like Pacman! With no Naz-esque 'equaliser' unless he gets a decent trainer (and Roger Mayweather would do him the world of good) he stands no chance.
