Countdown to the new season.

:o 12 days until the euphoria of an opening day win or the dissapointment of a damp squib of a start.

It's unbelievable how quickly it's rollled around. Feels like only yesterday that I, and many others, were coming to terms with the heartbreak of relegation.

I cannae wait now :scarf:

I still don't think I'll believe it until I see City in a League One table.

We've had too many of those in recent years.

I don't think we've actually won our opening game since our promotion season? It'll be a good time to break that curse.

I can't fuuuckin' wait.

I hope you're right mate, I really do.

It'll be nice to get our season off to a great start, it'll be tough though.

I think if we look at the table after the opening game and we're near bottom/low mid-table due to a loss we'll all feel gutted, disappointed and the thought of League One will depress us. You'll also get the cocks making "Pearson Out" threads or "We're getting relegated again threads".

If we look at the table after the opening game and we're near top/high mid-table we'll be happy and not to gutted about the season ahead. You'll also get the cocks automatically promoting us after one game, or getting carried away with one win, e.t.c.

Aye. I don't really take notice of the league table after the first few games. Last season we were in playoff positions after a few games.

I'm pretty sure we weren't. I remember reading somewhere that we haven't been above 8th place since we were relegated from the Premier League.

 Correct :(

9th was the highest for us last season, after Watford?

Near the play-offs then. ;) After the Watford win.

We were joint ninth with quite a few other teams, it wasn't anything to shout about really. ;)

We were joint ninth with about 5 other teams. ;)

Still, let us dream for a while. ^_^

Unfortunately most fans still thought we could make the play-offs when it was blatantly obvious a relegation scrap was on the cards.

Especially after our home game with Coventry. That was supposed to be the turning point in our season, but what a huge disappointment it was after.

Inconsistency killed us last year.

Come one, let's focus on this season. Let the good times roll.
