Henderson's a second rate keeper, who was bought in as back up anyway. Can anyone honestly say they don't sh*t their self every time the ball goes near him.

said it before & I'll say it again - You can't polish a turd....Hendo is a turd.

Bit harsh. I think he's a good keeper, especially at the level we'll now be playing at.

Cant think of any better goalkeepers in League 1.

It was the "Even if one was his fault it is one too many" comment i was referring too. I was being a little facetious.

He does flap but the keeper we have as back up is not as good(unless he's improve in the year) as hendo so we can't just get rid.

I think we do need a new keeper, but he has to be an improvement not a much of a muchness, as Alnwick was.

Fulop was a different class to any one we've had for years, shame we didn't have a clause to buy him.

Teblin,

When I said get rid I too was being a little facetious, I know that the second string goalie is also shit, Henderson is okay for the bench at this level.

Fulop is still available, I honestly think we should sell Mattock (who still can't defend properly) and get Fulop in, whatever his saley demands.

He has never ever been a good goalkeeper consistently (managed about 6 good games at the arse end of last season).

And why on earth do you thin he'll be good at this level whn so many goals come from set-pieces, at which he is useless.

Tell me when he has been a good goalie over the years that we have had him?

I know Doncaster have now gone up but they had Neil Sullivan last season who controls his box much better than Henderson ever has.

How many goalies have you actually seen play at this level?

I don't. :dunno:

His shot-stopping ability is very good, but he seems to struggle catching. He commands his defence not great but good enough.

Seriously? Every time the ball goes into the box above shoulder height you don't think to yourself "will he drop it will he drop it?! Balls, he's dropped it"? Having said that, the great sense of relief I feel when he does manage to hold onto something almost make it worth the number of times I've soiled myself.

Shot-stopping is what your average goalie should be able to do well, coming out and catching a ball is also pretty basic but to do it well and consistently well is the sign of a good goalie, and to command your box well is also the sign of a good goalie.

I'd love fulop back but just can't see it.

He's good enough the prem let alone the championship or even league 1.

I dont know why people are still persisting about Fulop. He's not going to come here is he.

I think Henderson is more than capable for League 1.

HOTLINE - WATER BLOW, FOXES

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE

Leicester have had an approach turned down for Derby County goalkeeper Stephen Bywater.

Derby may go into the new season with only two keepers and it seems that former Manchester United shot-stopper Roy Carroll and Wales international Lewis Price are ahead of Bywater in the pecking order.

New Foxes boss Nigel Pearson asked about Bywater.

From the People not sure how reliable.

We don't need any more of their shit thanks!

So we are generally in agreement that Henderson is not very good on crosses and is only at best average in commanding his box.

And yet in a division where a lot of goals come from corners and free kicks some of you believe that is okay.

Un****ingbelievable.

I have yet to hear anybody mention when he was a good goalie apart from the last few games of last season.

He is 32, you don't suddenly turn into a good goalie at 32,he just lucked onto a good run.

This is a bit like naming your top 30 films/books/records, most people will mention what they have read/seen/heard in the last 12 months, ask them again in 2 years and the vast majority of those will have changed.

A goalie who flaps will still continue to flap whatever league he plays in.

Argee

Henderson is a liability and will cost us points, and for a side wishing to be the best in Div 3 that will hurt.

I turned against Hendo after the debacle in Cardiff the season before last when we lost 2 v 3. He was shocking and gave 3 goals away and cost us the game. I travelled to Cardiff to watch 1 man ruin my day through his sheer lack of ability.

Hendo has to go

say Hendo has to go

Even at the back end of last season he made mistakes. He managed to save a penalty during the Sheffield United away match but then went on to make a hash of Beattie's free kick to conceed a goal. The man terrifies me.

I think the fact we enquired about Bywater shows we are after a keeper.

I can remeber a handful of games where he did well, villa league cup sunderland at home a couple of season ago spring to mind.

But if we want to be knob on for winning the league a top keeper is needed.

Hedno is a sound keeper, he has improved loads and V brum and the back end of last season he was catching every cross that came around him or punching the ones which he went out too!

His Kicking, throwing and distribution has improved dramaticly

and best of all he saves peno's Hendo will do well for us this season and in hendo i trust :)

I think Henderson is more then adequate for that in League 1.

That's right, as long as we give away penalties rather than corners we'll be okay.

I think Henderson is more then adequate for that in League 1.

Why the hell do you think that, what is this based on?

I'm coming to the conclusion that those who think that 'Henderson will be okay at this level' are the same people who thought that Holloway would keep us up until it was too late.

Despite numerous posters pointing out his lack of ability in commanding his box and being able to take a cross, for the vast majority of his career, for some reason because he saved a couple of penalties last season he will be okay.

Okay is not good enough, do you want an okay defence, midfield and strikeforce, do you think that will get us up?

If we stay in this division for more than one season we may struggle to get back out of it, crowds will plummet.

Brian Clough reckoned Peter Shilton was worth 20 points a season, Henderson is probably worth about -10.

Read up on the games where he has played, the number of bad games to good is probably about 3:1 and that is conservative.

Still he saves penalties.

Aaaaarghhhhh

Just how many penalties has he saved in his career, he does not have a reputation for saving penalties.

I don't disagree.

Who would you sign realistically who you know for a fact would be better?

Not having a go, just wondered, heard good things about brill but never seen him play.

To be honest Teblin I don't know, that is NFP and his scouts job and I assume they are on to it, I have only really seen Doncaster games in Division 3.

I though forests keeper was poor when we played them.

But he may have just had an off day.

It willhave to be a young up and coming keeper like the other signings have been i guess.

Agreed.

also, anyone who thinks shot stopping is a skill worthy of first team football should be kicked in the balls. EVERY goalie should be able to 'shot stop'....it just means getting in the way.

Loads more aspects to it than that & Hendo has none of them.
