Matt Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 I had a Jack Plane which was my Grandad's. It was really old but did the job (Was absolutely gutted when my Grandma gave away most of my Grandad's kit when he died - Even when as a young kid I kept saying I was going to be a Carpenter/Joiner but she thought I would change my mind as I grew older ), would have been worth something I reckon...until I dropped it when opening a draw in my tool cupboard a few weeks ago at work I've had a glued back together and slightly restored by someone I know the other day, It not usable but just for sentimental reason I had it 'fixed. I bought a Stanley Block Plane for about £28...Next time i'll spend abit more money, It's a cheap piece of shite. Need a Smoothing Plane next, especially as I have no Jack Plane now - Luckily i've not had to hang many doors recently.
