Bert Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 What a great day. Gradel was awesome. King holding back allowed Oakley to have a bit more freedom which meant they both played really well.

Moreton Posted 2 August 2008 Author Posted 2 August 2008 Some palace comments..."Max Gradel was excellent for them, by the way, he even got a big hand from the Palace fans when he came off." "Leicesters No 7 was very good - as good as any player on the pitch and we should watch him. And Curbishley left the stand 2 mins after he was substituted. Earlier questionof who he was watching, answered!" "LC had a couple of good players especially right winger" "Leic were better - team cohesion , better foward and midfield play, right back who supported hs winger, faster fitter and more fluent passing," Question: "I live right near selhurst and just heard a loud cheer. Is it 2-1?" Answer "Don't think so. Apparently they were cheering one of the Leicester players being subbed. He had played very well" "Leicester worked very hard and Pearson had them organised into the "two banks of four" system that is quite successful in nullifying the opposition and breaking with pace. They will do very well this season, I will be placing a small wager on them winning League 1." "Leicester were the better side overall. We shouldn't ignore the fact that they looked a talented and well organised side but we should have been better." "Was really impressed by the Leicester no 7 today. Gave Clint Hill a tough time and involved in their goal. If we can't get Sinclair on loan from Chelsea I hope Warnock would look at him as he would be an a useful player and a step up from Routledge and Robinson Crusoe on the wing." God i am really looking forward to seeing Max play this season. Hope he dosen't go though.
James. Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 Be the ball. Seriously though in between laughing I swear we completely dominated the game, particularly in the second half. First time Ive seen Gradel. Excited. Pleasure to watch. Fryatt looked rejuvenated, same with Oakley. What struck me was our focus and our willingness to receive the ball. All the players looked like they wanted the pass, really haven't seen that for awhile. And as a result we played nice football against a top Championship side. It was by no means a classic, partly because the stadium was empty but we looked dangerous and we looked exciting and when was the last time we could say that about City? Aprés-match was even better.
Maybes Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 Very, very pleased with the performance. We are looking very much a solid unit in the middle of the park. Oakley and probably Kishishev would my pairing with the god send that is Max Gradel who completely destroyed the palace defence. Weaving runs, touches of skill, quality balls into the box. This lad really does have it all in football terms. Nicky Adams again did well when came on, looked lively and good on the ball. He would be my pick for the left wing role ahead of the Lloyd. Matty Fryatt looking like the striker that was banging the goals in when he joined us and Howard posing as a good target man. I think Deej will get a fair share of goals this season, some good touches and neat passes and looked lively and a threat to the palace defence. All the defence had a solid game, not really tested too much. Oh not to mention Jack Hobbs bird As Shane Ritchie would put it "come and get your dinner" All in all a good away day out with a good performance.
ASH17LCFC Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 Reading the comments on here has given me a new found belief in Leicester. I didn't go today but the B-ham i went, they were excellent and the work rate is there now. We play football but look really solid going forward which was a huge problem last year and Gradel seems to be living up to all expectations. Pearson done well in pre season and a 1-1 and a narrow 3-2 loss against 2 sides who will be up there next year. Should give the team alot of confidence for next season.
Maybes Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 Few pics that may interest some members Yes Shane. Viking Ivander Chedic Karl and the small man James enjoying a tipple.
Daggers Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 Brilliant - a crap WPC not arresting an obviously under-age drinker. This is precisely what is wrong with Britain today. Is it wrong that I should be wondering what that WPC looks like in suspenders?

Bert Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 at Daggers. I'm interested to know why Tevez has his hand near his genitals when i'm sat next to him. James enjoying a tipple. Stephen Clemence chose to come with us today as well. (Red top)
Bert Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 No snaps of "the bag", i'm very relieved. That fooking bag.
Tommeh Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 Facey. fook off, not on here, please. regards, Puff.
Cobbo Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 The only player who didn't leave with any credit was Hayles - he looked so out of his depth. Don't know what he offers? No pace, not good in the air, not a great finisher, no range of passing, not particularly strong, not a leader. He taught Sappleton everything he knows. But in all fairness (© Sparky) he does have summit about him. Anyone at Barnsley last year will realise that and one summer does not make you a bad player. This is great to hear though, just hope Maxi isn't about to be snapped up and it angers me that someone with so much ability was loaned out all of last season.
General Smuts Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 Quality day out that, me and Dave just got back. Worth missing out on JME meeting Sappleton and the 15 quid ticket price for only seeing half the game. Alex was still out when we left a few hours ago his poor missus will be carrying him home tonight THERES NO I IN TEAM LEICESTER! I so wanted to tell him that there is in Maxi Gradel though. Iwan is a welshman sung un the concourse along with some randoms - fantastic! Llyod Dyer me Llyod. Llyod Dyer!
