DB11 Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 They said 8 dead on teletext earlier Tragic. I think it is that 8 survived.
Head Honcho Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 I think it is that 8 survived. No around 4pm they said 8 dead. I wish the media would at least get close to the truth before publishing duff information. It all boils down to the media rush to get the news out first.

davieG Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 From the Independant At least 100 people were killed when a Spanair passenger jet crashed on take-off at Madrid airport today. Estimates placed the final toll even higher and one official said only 27 of the 172 people on board had survived.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Just saw this on a news update. Horrible story.
dandannieldanok Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Horrible news, also very disturbing if the reports are true that it already had an aborted take-off, it really makes you wonder how safe you are when on an aeroplane. I've never been a fan of flying and just a few weeks ago, a flight I was on had been delayed for 4 hours, because of "technical difficulties at two different locations", hardly inspires confidence does it.

Planes are by far the safest way of travelling (except walking ) This kind of thing is very very rare, you are way more likely to be in an accident everytime you get in a car. Anyway, this is terrible, can't believe so many people died R.I.P
