Simi Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 An honest assesment from someone that went to the game... Disgraceful, abysmal, embarrassing, pathetic, inept, clueless. Yes I am talking about Drabio Crapello's England! Why on Earth was Stewart Downing playing ahead of England's best player in the last 2 years, Joe Cole? Why on Earth was Joleon Lescott, a man who has been better at left back than centre back of late, playing ahead of Matthew Upson? Why on Earth did David Beckham come on for the last 20 minutes and proceed to hang around the half way line and smash pointless, aimless balls upfront? Why on Earth is this clueless moron Crapello the manager of England's National side? I can safely say that the England side of: David James, Glen Johnson, John Terry, Joleon Lescott, Ashley Cole, Theo Walcott, Frank Lampard jnr, Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Jermain Defoe and Wayne Rooney, is the worst England starting line up of all time and they proceeded to give the worst 45 minute display of any England side ever, at any level! But for the brilliance of Joe Cole and Joe Cole alone, England would have drawn against Andorra a side ranked 180+ in the world! Shame on you Drabio Crapello and shame on the FA for being more concerned about giving David Beckham the embarrassing accolade of being the most capped English outfield footballer of all time! Never has such an honour been less deserved and never before has the thought of a player reaching such an accolade made me feel as physically sick as the thought of David Beckham replacing the great Bobby Moore as England's most capped outfield player! He must retire! England Player Ratings Against A Butcher, A Baker And A Candlestick Maker: James - n/a - England's 3rd best keeper is picked again, presumably because there is a quota to fill. Johnson - 4 - 2nd best of an awful set of right full backs in England. Terry - 3 - Couldn't inspire a worker ant. A loser in every sense of the word. Lescott - 0 - Just gave Andorra an outlet all evening by fouling their forward. Useless no hoper. A.Cole - 6 - Best of a bad starting line up. Our only real option at left full back. Walcott - 5 - Did a job, then didn't do a job. Why do we have to play with useless widemen? Lampard - 0 - Pointless. Barry - 0 - Pointlesser. Downing - 0 - Awful football player and surely only in the side because Mr.Crapello is an inept moron. Rooney - 3 - 3 for his assist and 0 for everything else. Is barely a Premiership striker, nevermind an International. Defoe - 0 - Has one of the worst England striker records of all time and can't even score against this lot. SUBS: J.Cole - 9 - England's best player alongside Rio Ferdinand and should be completely undroppable. MOTM. Heskey - 1 - I don't think he touched the ball in the whole 2nd half, but we scored twice, so did better than Defoe. Beckham - 0 - If you have any class or honour you will retire before passing greats like Moore, Wright and Charlton. Things are looking up!!
Maybes Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Was watching this game for the first half .....thoroughly bored therefore led me to leave the pub and go to one that WASN'T showing the game. Good choice.
Joe. Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 An honest assesment from someone that went to the game...Things are looking up!! I can see his frustrations but come on, that's way over the top.
Simi Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 I can see his frustrations but come on, that's way over the top. From someone that travelled a long way to see the game and probably spent a reasonable sum of money on those jokers, I'm not sure. However, I didn't see the game. If it was compariable to the last time we played them though, I'd probably agree.
Bert Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Q: Exactly how pointless is Wayne Rooney in an international shirt? A: Very. (Half marks awarded for 'Quite') Did you not see his assist? That, was class. Slight exaggeration to say to the least there.
The Reverend Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 An honest assesment from someone that went to the game...Things are looking up!! Haha, that assessment is brilliant. I think he may be going a bit overboard though I didnt watch the game (thankfully). It seems a numberof others didnt either aswel. Is interest in England dwindling? I remember a time i never missed an England game, but recently, i couldnt give a toss.
Ashley Posted 8 September 2008 Author Posted 8 September 2008 There was loads of Leicester over there, I have more pics of Leicester flags. I´ll upload them soon.
Ashley Posted 8 September 2008 Author Posted 8 September 2008 Just wanted to say a big well done to all the leicester fans who went to Andorra away this past weekend. Leicester continue to be one of the best supported clubs at England away matches. It was great to see the Place Reiel on Las Ramblas mobbed (as well as all the bars) with leicester fans with there flags. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A40709586
Father Ted Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/7602964.stmI know this is irrelevant to the Andorra game but is it just me or does Gerrard come across as a complete kn*b in this article, to me he's just sounding like a patronising little upstart. Not just the article - everything else aswell
Uncle Albert Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 Not just the article - everything else aswell Jealousy is a killer mate.
Father Ted Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 Jealousy is a killer mate. No, I just think he is a typical up-himself Scouse moron!
Uncle Albert Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 No, I just think he is a typical up-himself Scouse moron! Ow right, I wouldnt mind being an up-myself Scouse moron, if I was getting his paypacket.

There's a bit of an interesting debate going on here on Standupsitdown about it, mainly Leeds fans failing to understand how you can't be 100% passionate towards your country, whereas Mancs and Scousers are causing a fuss about not caring. I must say I think I agree with the latter. I can't associate with any of them anymore, the performances don't reflect the support they get. They're just not interested. Until they can show they are, I shall not bother with them.

Joe. Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 It seems to be Rooney who's the great untouchable at the moment....

And if you were to drop Lamps then Carrick is his only worthy replacement. Gerrard is right to say that he wants to play in his proper position which is a 'do what you want' role and thats where you will get him playing at his best, not a holding role to accomodate Lampard or play on the Left side of midfield. What a load of shite, surely against the likes of Andorra and the other missfits in our group England are good enough to play without a holding midfielder?
dandannieldanok Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 No keep Lampard and just get rid of Gareth Barry, he is so overated its unreal. But people love his fantastic array of sideways passing, he's worth £18m you know.
Uncle Albert Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 But people love his fantastic array of sideways passing, he's worth £18m you know. Damn. <_< Makes me laugh, Barry had two good games against Russia and Isreal and now he has the label of England's Mr. Reliable, makes me sick. Wouldnt give the steam of my own piss let alone £18 million.

I only used Barry as an example, would prefer Hargreaves tbh, but Carrick would be good as well
