Darkzzz_ Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 Won promotion from Serie B with Parma, I have just started my first season in Serie A, I have spent £13M. I got Bojan on a free, Lewandowski £4m, Crespo has made a return to Parma on a free. I have played 5, lost 3 and drawn 1. My first win just came at the San Siro against Inter, they battered me and I went there for a point and defended for my life, my only shot produced a goal and I am more than happy to climb out of the bottom 3. Staying in the league is the main aim, I would be happy to sell Bojan for a huge profit come the end of the season, considering I nabbed him on a free! Milan next.

Got knocked out in FA Cup round 4 away to Sheff Wed. Next England manager me thinks

FilboFox Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Just been offered Marlon Harewood for £375k from Villa... he's 30 and still very quick and could probably score loads in the Championship... however he'll be getting £9k a week and I've already got Fryatt, Lambert and Howard... I'm tempted to get him in just to see what he can do but I think it's a risk... and I'm the sort of manager who is VERY careful about buying and selling players... anyone else have any opinions or advice...

Fryatt's doing OK so far for me... Howard isn't playing so much as Lambert has the first team place for now. I could just save the money on Harewood and sign a younger player later... then again, as you have mentioned, he could get me to the play-offs... though automatic is what I'm aiming for...

I'll go check what my team was actually, I think I signed Kilgallon and Lustig CB and RB respectively, too. (also I finished 6th cos three teams finished on 100+ that season and two in the 90's!)

Surely they must bring a patch out or summat to sort this out soon? I had players get injured twice in a month who have very good natural fitness and strength
Lovejoy Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Months ago I started a game as Juve and got taken over in the first summer, handed a huge kitty, but didn't play longer than a couple of weeks into pre-season. Decided to load the buggar up as I just can't get into anything on FM atm and have signed a few badboys. Still got problems at the back though, offered Fazio's release amount and am trying to sign Srna, though Man Citeh are being twats and paying over the odds, meaning I have to match them . Also, based on a scout's recomendation, I signed Jack Collison for £4.2m . Future star apparently.
Flynny Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Sneaked a Champions League spot last day of the season. I thought it was totally beyond me having had a bad spell and not looked at the table, was sweating on 6th (predicted 19th btw) but about 3 results went my way final day. Amazed.

I had to reload the game a few weeks before, without having lost any of my results, because the injury crisis got even worse... on top of my 6 injured players from international duty, Oakley and Fryatt both ended up joining then on the sidelines... so I just thought, **** this, I'm going back to when I had a team to play every week.
