lildave3 Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 Yeah all teams get a budget based on their performance for that actual season, which is then carried onto the next series. There might be changes in budget if a team recieved a huge boost in Budget from one real season to the next I.e Benneton to Renault, Toyota & Bar to Honda. Each driver will get a price tag based on their WR and previous Formula Foxestalk results, which will flutuate each season. New drivers will be free. And you could also sell your team, i guess... Thats my plan anyway! Are you doing this yourself? It's not an actual game mode is it? You don't have to be a manager! Any yeah BMW are the 3rd best team, but they won't figure in 86, 97, 99 etc.. I want to be a manager though, sounds fun. Well what series are we doing next? Not 86 surely?

Well what series are we doing next? Not 86 surely? Correct. I'll do it all myself (With everyones help!). I should have a lot more time on my hands seeing as work has been very little lately! <_< 08 is next, 86 or 97 after that

Father Ted Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 I wanna join Ferrari, how ever I do that. And I'm going with Ashley
shen Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 I'm taking Renault then... And what a weak qualifying!! Didn't even get out for my second and third stints, why not? Is "Vehicle unable to take to the circuit" a mechanical problem?
Asha Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 I will be very interested to see what my price tag is. Also, is it only 2 drivers to a team still?

Ok so far we have Managers: Me - Mclaren Potter - Ferrari Ld3 - BMW Shen - Renault I will be very interested to see what my price tag is.Also, is it only 2 drivers to a team still? I'll work out budgets and driver price tags today. And yes theres no way to get around 2 drivers per team, so you and Jovan can't go together, unless one of you pick a different team. They way to join Ferrari is to be signed by their manager (Potter). Wether he'll want to is a different story.

Floating Fox Posted 8 October 2008 Author Posted 8 October 2008 So I'm managing Ferrari, but I don't actually have to sign myself? Interesting... To make it a more even playing field, each team would definatly need to sign 2 drivers. Would it be more interesting if you could own a team, but drive for a different one? Or would it just better to 'sign yourself'?

But how can you avoid managers actually 'managing' the drivers? e.g. telling them what to do? I see all kinds of problems with the whole manager/driver problems...

I see all kinds of problems with the whole manager/driver problems... You can't tell them what to do really, basically your just signing them in hope that they deliver the tittle! What other problems do you see?
Floating Fox Posted 8 October 2008 Author Posted 8 October 2008 This is my current idea: Teams: Toyota: $445m McLaren: $430m Ferrari: $415m Honda: $400m Renault: $390m BMW Sauber: $360m Red Bull Racing: $165m Williams: $160m Toro Rosso: $130m Force India: $120m Super Aguri: $45m Drivers: Chris Louth $125m Andy Hunt $80m Jovan Matijas $70m Matt McCaugham $54m Paul Hills $50m Martin Southam $46m Johnny Matthews $40m Alex Cook $34m Fi Ridgewell $32m Ashley Jupp $26m Daniel Cox $20m Ben Stapleford $20m Damon Fleming $18m Adrien Shen $16m Jake Shingler $1m
Floating Fox Posted 8 October 2008 Author Posted 8 October 2008 So I could afford you and Chris? If I wanted to Yes, I'm thinking about Changing that though.... Maybe if teams had to offer the driver X amount per race too? So that drivers can weight up options.. I don't know Teams will also be able to buy upgrades. 0.01seconds will cost $10m Give me suggestions guys!

Being better than Southam Yes, I'm thinking about Changing that though.... Maybe if teams had to offer the driver X amount per race too? So that drivers can weight up options.. I don't know Teams will also be able to buy upgrades. 0.01seconds will cost $10m Give me suggestions guys! How about... McLaren, Ferrari and BMW can't upgrade... ALSO: What car series we doing?
Floating Fox Posted 8 October 2008 Author Posted 8 October 2008 I love it! Being better than Southam How about... McLaren, Ferrari and BMW can't upgrade... Don't see how that make it realistic to be honest, Obviosuly the budgets will change dramtically when we do 86 or 97. I'd advise someone to manage Williams as they are present in every series EDIT: We're doing '08 to finish of this sequence then starting fresh from 86 or 97..
Floating Fox Posted 8 October 2008 Author Posted 8 October 2008 Could I join, Season 9? Yeah you'd be available on a free
Brainy Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 Can I in whatever way be associated with TEAM Williams please good to see nobody took Andy's advice aswell..
AoWW Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 What dontcha get ? ? I don't get any of it. Andy, am I supposed to be involved in this? Someone tell me what I'm meant to be doing... It all sounds complicated, and I've only got a ickle brain. This is my current idea:Teams: Toyota: $445m McLaren: $430m Ferrari: $415m Honda: $400m Renault: $390m BMW Sauber: $360m Red Bull Racing: $165m Williams: $160m Toro Rosso: $130m Force India: $120m Super Aguri: $45m Drivers: Chris Louth $125m Andy Hunt $80m Jovan Matijas $70m Matt McCaugham $54m Paul Hills $50m Martin Southam $46m Johnny Matthews $40m Alex Cook $34m Fi Ridgewell $32m Ashley Jupp $26m Daniel Cox $20m Ben Stapleford $20m Damon Fleming $18m Adrien Shen $16m Jake Shingler $1m I've been grossly over-valued.
