i give you the the beautifully judged epic 10 minutes songed album Watershed by opeth

a stunning mix between irrifutably technical and heavy death metal songs to the amazing acoustic sections, it is unique in its blend and the sheer technicallity and beauty of some of it deserves to win this title alone, i thought it was a 2007 release but no it is from 2008

this band is still going strong after formation in 1990 which is a feat in itself
