NFFC Chris Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 2008 has been a great year for new music, some favourites include: Opeth-Watershed Scar Symmetry-Holographic Universe Metallica-Death Magnetic Draconian-Turning Seasons Within Judas Priest-Nostradamus We've also seen solid new albums from the likes of Dragonforce and Sonic Syndicate, and with great hype about Gojira's new album being spread around,if the year ended now it'd still be an impressive offering.

Are Gojira the French lot?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Oui Thought I remembered them from my "metal" period. One of the few heavier bands that I can still listen to.

Glasvegas is a very good shout. No. Be quiet.
Jonezy Posted 13 October 2008 Posted 13 October 2008 Going to see them at The Charlotte later this year (assuming Mrs John Murphy has got his act together <_< ) - should be good! Fleet Foxes are very good live. They interact with the audience quite a bit, and the keyboard/piano player somehow manages to headbang to their music. Saw them in Copenhagen a few months ago and enjoyed it massively.
