I believe it's due to his love of cheese. Uzbeki cheese is respected as the best in the world, by those in the know.

Uzbecki women?????

Plus there's a direct flight to AMritsar from Uzbekistan!!!

Wasn't he unhappy with the way things are run in Greece?

AEK finished 2nd but had to have a play-off with 3rd place Panathanaikos for the Champions League spot and lost their spot.

Then he had a tantrum and stormed off to Uzbekistan for a massive payday.

Yeah he was a talent, unfortunately my main memory of him would be that shameless piece of play acting against China in the 2002 World Cup.

No, the cheese and acting class arguments are more convincing.
