The Stig Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Football on the BBC. "We've lost it all to ITV"
JakeShingler Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Football on the BBC."We've lost it all to ITV" More like setanta. Any one realise they had an irish man comantating the england game and an english man doing the ireland game
The Stig Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 More like setanta.Any one realise they had an irish man comantating the england game and an english man doing the ireland game No. Jon Champion is English. Chris Waddle is English and no ITV have just as much football as Setanta in fact they have the first picks of the FA Cup.
JakeShingler Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 No. Jon Champion is English. Chris Waddle is English and noITV have just as much football as ITV in fact they have the first picks of the FA Cup. What?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 More like setanta.Any one realise they had an irish man comantating the england game and an english man doing the ireland game No I didn't because John Champion's accent isn't exactly from the Emerald Isle. ****s sake.
Brainy Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Maybe he means BBC 5 Live? Not that I would know as i've never listened to commentary on there.
The Stig Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 More like setanta.Any one realise they had an irish man comantating the england game and an english man doing the ireland game What? You said Setanta had Irish commentators on the England game, they didn't both Jon Chmapion and Chris Waddle are English. And when you said that its more like Setanta who have won the BBC's football rights I rightly pointed out that ITV do have as much former BBC televised football as Setanta and actually have first pick of FA Cup games so therefore a better deal.

Tbf to Jake, you did say that iTV had more football than iTV.
The Stig Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Tbf to Jake, you did say that iTV had more football than iTV. Good point, apologies to yourself and Jake my mistake, but Jon Champion remains English.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Good point, apologies to yourself and Jake my mistake, but Jon Champion remains English. Well yeah that is quite a glaring mistake on his part.
The Stig Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Well yeah that is quite a glaring mistake on his part. On a serious point it wouldn't make a difference to me what nationality they were. If an Irishman were a better commentator and un-biased he should get the game. There's nothing worse than a TV team who are biased e.g ITV to Lewis Hammilton.

Head Honcho Posted 17 October 2008 Posted 17 October 2008 wearing the city shirt , i think it's the only time that he puts two thumbs up sign  He does it for Spurs also. I like the frown when he's wearing the forest shirt though
Ric Flair Posted 17 October 2008 Posted 17 October 2008 Lineker was the reason I got in to football, was obsessed with him when I was about 6. Such a shame he didn't fancy a swansong back at Leicester after he did that stint in Japan, that would have been phenomenal.

Alexikokopops Posted 17 October 2008 Posted 17 October 2008 Arsene Wenger used to manage this team as well I think He did, until he left for Arsenal in 1996.
