Scow Posted 15 April 2005 Posted 15 April 2005 ...For a few games anyway. Leicester City manager Craig Levein admitted he may be missing the last few games of this campaign to go on scouting trips for new players. When asked about his recent scouting trips and his transfer strategy for next season in an interview on LCFC World, Craig Levein had this to say: ''Well we're certainly not taking our eye of the ball really as regards to the short-term, we want to win every match. I think we're certainly looking towards next season. To that end we've been away watching players. And between now and the end of the season it might be the case that I might miss one of our games, or two of our games to get away and watch players. I think it’s important that we bring the right people in next season. But that's something that will be on-going between now and the end of the season, probably into the summer with some of the markets we're looking at.'' Levein also revealed that there could also be further pre-contracted players arriving at the club like Hearts utility man Patrick Kisnorbo… ''Well, pre-contract is something we'll consider, but its getting close to the end of the season so it might not be necessary. The window opens again in June, I think it is. So...Yeah, if I think its the right thing to do. The trips that we've been on recently were interesting, rather than anything else at this minute in time. But I think the more matches we've seen, the more players we've taken in, then the better chance of getting it right.'' Link - Foxes Online
Fox in a Box Posted 15 April 2005 Posted 15 April 2005 scowy why have you moved that? scowy to leave leicester!
Scow Posted 15 April 2005 Author Posted 15 April 2005 Because it's about me, not about Leicester City. And this is the Leicester City section of the forum...
Steven Posted 15 April 2005 Posted 15 April 2005 You fooking bastard, my heart sank for about 4 nanoseconds.
Ricey Posted 15 April 2005 Posted 15 April 2005 *Breathes sigh of relief* It's nice to see a Leicester manager who realises how important bringing the right players in is, it's also nice to see a Leicester manager not jut scouting the lower leagues and the Premiership reserves.
Cat Burger Posted 15 April 2005 Posted 15 April 2005 Do we really need that many players? we've got two coming in anyway. He should be trying to refine the potential we already have in our squad.

Louise Posted 15 April 2005 Posted 15 April 2005 I hope Levein doesn't miss any of our matches, I'm sure he trusts his coaches and assistants but we still want to see him there and so will the players, if the manager isn't there they might be less motivated. Of course if he does miss a match it'll be at a time when we're safe so shouldn't really matter, except for us wanting some good results to entertain us at the end of a painful season. If he gets some obscure player that turns out to be a star I suppose it'd all be worth it though... But what about the young players that he's said will get to make an appearance? He can't see how good or otherwise they are if he's not here...

If indeed he trusts his assistants and coaches, he would trust their judgement on players too (in fact didn't he send Rob Kelly out to Holland this week?) Besides he can watch videos on the match and will most likely want the coaches to pay extra attention to the young performers
Scow Posted 15 April 2005 Author Posted 15 April 2005 It was a bit of a bastard headline to be fair. But I'm not to blame though. You know who you are...
Louise Posted 15 April 2005 Posted 15 April 2005 It was a bit of a shocking title Scowy, shame on you.
