shen Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Sabotage, hands down. Bitter Sweet Symphony's already been used before in this compo, hasn't it?
FilboFox Posted 22 November 2008 Author Posted 22 November 2008 Sabotage, hands down. Bitter Sweet Symphony's already been used before in this compo, hasn't it? No... I don't think so. Maybe last year but I don't think so this year. If I am wrong... something will have to be done about that.
Fox You Forest Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Whoever picked Barbie Girls needs 10 lashes.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Who-ever voted for Alice Deejay needs to receive a serious talking too and possibly a slap if s/he's attitude doesn't change. Mean two votes, come on!
JakeShingler Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Sabotage, hands down. Bitter Sweet Symphony's already been used before in this compo, hasn't it? Yes it has, but i still voted it .
stez Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Who-ever voted for Alice Deejay needs to receive a serious talking too and possibly a slap if s/he's attitude doesn't change. Mean two votes, come on! to be honest i hang songs onto memories, so i can listen to (almost) anything fondly. i also like to listen without prejudice © george micheal. having said that, it's not my song so i didn't vote for it, and i urge others not to either!!
lildave3 Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Verve. Cotton Eye Joe better make it through though, or I won't be happy.
Asha Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Whoever picked Barbie Girls needs 10 lashes. It's a fantastic song. Will easily take me to the quarters.

Libertine Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 I'M FREEEEEEEE TO BE WHATEVER I, WHATEVER I CHOOSE AND I SING THE BLUES IF I WANT Come on Whatever! Whatever > Bittersweet
Asha Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Something told me it might have been you lad. What's that supposed to mean?
lildave3 Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 What's that supposed to mean? Well of all the people left in, only you would have chosen Barbie Girl.
FilboFox Posted 23 November 2008 Author Posted 23 November 2008 And what's worse is that I allowed it!
Ultra Posted 23 November 2008 Posted 23 November 2008 Whatever > Bittersweet Except it isn't. Although Bittersweet is co-written by the Stones, from the days when they recorded classic tunes. Here's the evidence.
stez Posted 23 November 2008 Posted 23 November 2008 Except it isn't.Although Bittersweet is co-written by the Stones, from the days when they recorded classic tunes. Here's the evidence. as i remember it, and i've not opened the link so i could be wrong, the stones took them to court to get their names credited on the song, because after the verve had successfully got agreement to sample the stones' bit, they (the verve) actually used too much of the orchestral bit in the actual song.

As I remember it I think the Stones got all/most of the royalties because of that.
stez Posted 23 November 2008 Posted 23 November 2008 As I remember it I think the Stones got all/most of the royalties because of that. i was thinking that, but i think that actually happened to carter USM when the sampled ruby tuesday on 'after the watershed' could've been both though, i remember the stones being particularly stroppy during the 90's!
