Thracian Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Where can it be found everyone? Pubs/restaurants/cafe's only of course.
Uncle Monty Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 All you can eat buffet's are good but not usually very classy.
Thracian Posted 22 November 2008 Author Posted 22 November 2008 All you can eat buffet's are good but not usually very classy. How much for an all-you-can-eat buffet?
Matt Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 It's not Leicester, Not even Leicestershire, But I had a 3-course cravery for £3.50 in the week, in Nuneaton. (Rugger Tavern) How on earth they can afford to do it I don't understand. Starter Tomato Soup Mushroom Soup Chicken Wings Main Course Turkey Beef Gammon (With any and as much as you like Roast Potato's, Baby Potato's, Stuffing Cabbage, Cauliflower Cheese, Carrots, Peas, and the usual) Desert Bread and Butter Pudding Apple Crumble (With Ice Cream or Custard)
Webbo Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 How much for an all-you-can-eat buffet? If you like Indian grub then I can recommend Feast Indian. .£13.95 a head.
Uncle Monty Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 How much for an all-you-can-eat buffet? Went to a Chinease one last year near Dominoes, cant remember how much exactly but i think it was under a tenner.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 I'm not sure if an all you can eat is what's needed, but if it is and Chinese is your thing, then the Terracotta on Highcross Street is still my favourite. Not the cheapest, but the best value

Best I've experienced in Leicestershire was Lacey's Diner: Tomato, mint and orange soup (best soup I've ever tasted); Sirloin steak, chips and peas; Strawberry cheesecake and cream. Generous proportions. Nicely served. £5 all in. Four choices in each section.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 There's a Chinese called Terracotta at the end of the High Street. Really nice place, hidden away, quite classy looking, relaxed atmosphere, £6.80 at lunchtime for a buffet. The chef cooks the stuff in front of you, so you can select frsh ingrediets or choose food that is constantly available. Really recommend it.

Samilktray Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Every Friday for the last 5 weeks I've been. Damn them and their bloody value! Shamefully tried the new Chinese buffet opposite Hand Made Burger, in the new Shires. Safe to say I wont be turning my back on Terracotta.

I walked past that, just didn't look the same, I need my fix of small, incomprehensible, old Chinese woman when I visit a Chinese now.
Samilktray Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 I walked past that, just didn't look the same, I need my fix of small, incomprehensible, old Chinese woman when I visit a Chinese now. Its not. Tries to be too upmarket and posh.

Uncle Monty Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 "Just put a fountain in the middle of the place, that'll make it look like something from a Jet Li film." I was watching 'Once upon a time in China' only this morning.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 I was watching 'Once upon a time in China' only this morning. I watched "Cradle to the Grave" last night. The type of film that is awful but I really like.

I've been told they also do a £3.50 cavery at - The Ceder Tree, which is by the Swimming Pool (The Pingles), but have also been told it's not so good, apparently they run out of meat quite alot, e.t.c.

Sounds like a place to get there early. But isn't the Pingles also in Warwickshire?
Matt Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Sounds like a place to get there early. But isn't the Pingles also in Warwickshire? Correct. Nuneaton/Warwickshire (As much I hate to admit it...Near Coventry ) But I always soften the blow by always stating I live on the Nuneaton/Hinckley border. (Hinckley - That ain't much to brag about but atleast it's Leicestershire )
LeeCovFox Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Sounds like a place to get there early. But isn't the Pingles also in Warwickshire? Yes it is. The carvery there is pretty poor. Even at £3.50 the value isn't great. Was far better for meals before it became a carvery only establishment.
