Forgot Overmars sorry, but Van Persie at Feynoord surely was nowhere near a finshed product. I'd give Wenger credit with that.

Surely if these managers were adamant that the likes of Henry and Veira would turn into world beaters they wouldn't have sold them for peanuts?

There are crap managers out there still... (even worse than Wenger!! :o )

Arsenal finished 12th in the Premier League the season before he took over.

And also Thierry Henry was not thought of as anything approaching a world class striker when Wenger signed him.

Henry was part of the France 98 World Cup - winning squad.

So the talent must already have been there, even if he didn't show it at Juve.

Van Persie is still nowhere near the finished product.

The lad is 25. When will he ever be the finished product. This is about as good as he'll get. If he just stays injury free, and he can go very far.
