Brainy Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 Bernie has said that McLaren are sandbagging and have no problems.
Legend_in_blue Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 It appears that the controversy has already started without even starting the first race meet. And I'm not talking about the farcical abolishment of the points system. Brawn GP have apparently broken the rules with something to do with their car setup. That's what 3 of the teams are saying and they're lodging some sort of complaint. They reckon it's giving them a performance boost which is why they've surprised everyone with their pace. Knowing how slow appeals go, if Brawn GP do well Sunday, their points won't be rescinded for another 3 to 4 weeks if proven that they've cheated! Great.
Father Ted Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 When does it start? TV coverage: 0600-0900 Anybody know what time the race starts??
Asha Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Really can't wait for this, should be a decent season. Go on Ferrari. Hope BBC use 'the chain' tune for the intro like they used to.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 I'll be there for the race Courtsey of Isaidno for the tickets

lildave3 Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 They are doing, it's been confirmed They were never not going to really were they...
Brainy Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 So long as Hamilton has a car that is drivable then i'll look forward to see how he copes with driving an average car. Love the livery though.
hairy Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 Seems daft they are not going to decide if these defuser things are breaking the rules for another two weeks. If one of the teams wins and they deduct the points after awarding them it can only ever turn into another F1 farce. Another one the sport doesn't need.

Asha Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 I really hope the controversy is kept to a minimum this year. No post-race disqualifications, please.

Brainy Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 So long as Ferrari or Alonso don't do well on Sunday then i'll be happy.
Asha Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 I'm not worried about McLaren this year anyway. I see Brawn as the main threat.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 Can't wait for the new F1 season personally. Heres hoping Hamilnob fails (oh yeah, i dislike him strongly... probably the only person on these forums that does... ah well) Anway, heres to the 2009 world champion... FERNANDO ALONSO! Live coverage of Practice is on BBCi on ch 301 or 302 in the wee small hours of tomorrow morning! yey. Dunno if its being back on the Beeb, but i really cannot wait for this season... roll on F1 2009!
Brainy Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 I see Brawn as the main threat. And thats why Ferrari will be disqualified for spying.

True actually. My cousin's boyfriend worked for Honda in Brackley, and I think he's been transferred to Brawn in the takeover, but I'm not 100% on this.
Brainy Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 I'll also enjoy seeing the #1 on Hamilton's car ALL season.
