Unit Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I've just sold something on ebay and am being told I have to wait til it's been posted and the person has left me feedback before I can touch my money. Any ideas why? It says it could be 21 days before i get my money which is pretty fooking useless as I'm trying to get money for christmas. ideasss? Please post the item right away. We'll release the funds when one of the following occurs: * you receive positive feedback from the buyer * it's been 21 days since the payment date and you haven't received a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction being held
James. Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Err maybe you should post it and ask the buyer to leave feedback...
Unit Posted 2 December 2008 Author Posted 2 December 2008 Err maybe you should post it and ask the buyer to leave feedback... Yeah but why's this happened? I have 97 feedback and 100% positive, just seems a bit odd. Ah well going to post it now.
AmericanScott Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 You tell em Phil! What did you sell anyways?
GLC Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 You tell em Phil! What did you sell anyways? porn i lost by a penny
Alexikokopops Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Yeah but why's this happened? I have 97 feedback and 100% positive, just seems a bit odd. Ah well going to post it now. Maybe they've started doing it as an extra precaution around Christmas time against fraudsters.
hairy Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Maybe they've started doing it as an extra precaution around Christmas time against fraudsters. Agreed. If you pay with a credit card then you are insured and the card company will just take the money back off paypal if the goods dont arrive. They are just covering themselves.
Trumpet Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Same happened to me twice, it's mainly for goods over a certain price I think, probably £50. Providing you don't get an arse of a buyer and you do your bit to get it sent out ASAP, you'll get the money just as fast as usual. I suppose it's an incentive for you to get it posted as well as covering paypal and the buyer. Can only be a good thing really.

I suppose it's an incentive for you to get it posted as well as covering paypal and the buyer. Can only be a good thing really. Just be careful around Christmas. I only ever received one negative feedback on ebay. This was from someone who bought a video from me. He left me negative feedback two or three days after purchasing it. He had bought it on 20th Dec and never contacted me about it. Did he not realise that it was Christmas and it might take more than a day or two to arrive?!?!!? Of course, (even thought I had proof of posting), the negative feedback stood until the thoughtless buyer unregistered himself (year or so later). The video was cheap too, so I did not get that message from paypal. Paypal are extremely annoying though. I tried to complain about a purchase the other day (it had been sent WAY late, by a cheaper method of delivery than described and it was partly broken). However, you simply could not complete the complaint, as one of the buttons had been disabled! When I complained to paypal about it, I simply got a standard message on how to go through the process. No mention of how to avoid/deal with disabled buttons. ARGH. They drive me mad.
Father Ted Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Is the message from Paypal or Ebay? If it's from Ebay it could be a hoax...
allard7 Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Is the message from Paypal or Ebay?If it's from Ebay it could be a hoax... Had this about 3 times done to me, they are just being extra precausios. If its from ebay do not respond to it or do anything it says. I got a few of these hoax messages last week. If you were dumb you would/could fall for them, luckly i didnt
