Fryatt 10 (Successive hat-tricks two days running, 22 goals for the season, City 4 points clear, you run out of superlatives to describe the value of his contribution. Made two of his goals look mujch easier than they were. Terrific).

I fail to see how you came to that conclusion. I'm all for differing opinions, but that statement is frankly ridiculous.

Because he had nine or 10 minutes on the field and did nothing of note. Some people come on for a short period of time and make a goal, a vital clearance or perhaps produce three or four telling passes.

I was pleased he got some match time but can't remember him making any memorable contributions. That being the case he would get many marks.

I'm well aware the guy has a following here and even thought that he'd prove a useful signing myself, and so he might be in the end. But so far I'm just glad I've not had to pay his wages.

Oh I just assumed on a 1-10 scale rating, 2 would suggest that they did something particularly bad. Your right he didnt do anything telling, but tbh he definitely justified a 5/6. I hate to be cynical, but if Levi Porter had come on and done exactly the same you would have written "Not on long enough to rate" or justified a solid 6.

They wanted their man talking up cos he was a "pal"...In their case a fellow countryman and in Dickov's case a City old boy.

But Kaebi did nothing to deserve talking up and Dickov was the same today. He got some involvement at long last and he'll be encouraged by that but what more was there?

he was on for less then 10 mins you should of just not rated him thrac, as said before had Levi or Sheehan done the same as Dickov you would of given them the MOTM award

He didn't do much, but I don't think he did anything wrong. On one occasion he made a good run but Dyer just didn't send the ball, if he had then Dickov would have been through on goal.

I certainly wouldn't deliberately apply different principles to one or the other and was tempted to say "not on long enough" in Dickov's case. But he's not been on long enough all season and I thought 10 minutes was long enough to show something.

Fryatt, for instance, had played about 80 minutes, scored a hat-trick yet still found the energy to close one of their guys down like his life depended on it. I know he had longer but substitute Mark Davies looked quite impish and determined to impress.

Factors like that earned those two higher marks. I thought it's time we saw a return from Dickov yet saw nothing. Porter had nothing to do with anything.

Indeed, in the past I've quite liked Dickov. But I didn't see much of the old Dickov today and I've not seen much since he signed.

You are relentless in defending your faulted statements Thracian! Guess we'll agree to disagree on this one. I'm sure you were busy writing down notes or something when I saw Dickov closing people down then :thumbup:

When striker Dickov scores a goal, makes a goal or does anything else of note I'm sure I'll give him credit for it. So far he's made 10 appearances in about three months, scored one goal and had 10 shots. I don't think he added to that tally today.

In the case of strikers it's not so much what they do wrong that matters to me, as what they do right and just now I'm finding it hard to remember his telling contributions. No doubt things will change and I look forward to it.

Oakley - 7 (would like to have seen him support Gilbert more and stay wide)

Berner - 6 (his touch let him down at times although he does get in amongst them unlike King)

Dyer - 6 (poor in my opinion, never ran at the defenders, always cut inside and ran into trouble, lost the ball a number of times)

Fryatt - 9 (superb throughout)

Howard - 8 (excellent game, held the ball up and flicked it on well - just needs to get into the box more often)

Subs:

Morrison - 7

Davies - 7 (very impressed with this lad, made a few tackles, passed and moved forward unlike King and Berner, and almost scored. Hope he starts the next one)

My rating for Dickov is 2.
